BWW Previews: SISTER ACT THE MUSICAL at State Theatre, New Brunswick


This December the national tour of SISTER ACT THE MUSICAL is coming to the Garden State with stops in New Brunswick and Morristown. First up, the show will play the historic State Theatre in New Brunswick for three performances on December 12th and 13th. The SISTERs then swing back through New Jersey to perform at the Mayo Center for the Performing Arts in Morristown on January 31st and February 1st.

Join us for a screening of this rarely performed opera and a conversation with one of the stars. NBC commissioned Gian Carlo Menotti to write Maria Golovin, which had its premiere at the 1958 Brussels World's Fair and ran briefly on Broadway in late 1958 before its television premiere on NBC Opera on March 8, 1959.

One of Orange County, California's newest theater companies, 3D Theatricals, will present HELLO, DOLLY! from July 9 through August 1 at the gorgeous O.C. Pavilion Theatre in the Arts District of downtown Santa Ana. Starring as the matchmaker Dolly Levi will be Broadway veteran (and Los Angeles-area theater favorite) Ruth Williamson. During a break from show preparations, Williamson paused briefly for a chat with BroadwayWorld's Michael Lawrence Quintos to discuss her extensive history in the theater and her excitement in taking on the iconic role.
