Tonight's my first time in Historic Downtown Clermont. The small parking lot outside the Moonlight Players Theatre already filled up well before I arrived, so I settled on a very uncomfortable parallel parking space a couple blocks down. Fortunately, this allowed me a chance to walk along Minneola Avenue, where an outdoor saxophonist was jazzing out 'Sing, Sing, Sing' next door to a bakery filled with customers - some inside ordering sweets, but most already outside on the patio enjoying their wares and the ambient musical stylings of Benny Goodman. I had to double back a couple times before I found the sidewalk that led me to the theatre. The Moonlight Players' 2019-20 season had kicked off a couple weeks ago, but here I was, late to the party, as their season's first production, DIAL M FOR MURDER, had just reached its closing weekend.

They are the first to stage Charles Dickens' classic in this are, 'A Christmas Carol', and are happy to continue this Northport Village holiday tradition as only The Minstrel Players can do it! Performances are one weekend only tonight, December 12th and Saturday, December 13th at 8 P.M. and a 3 P.M. matinee on Sunday, December 14th.

The Minstrel Players Theatre Company of Northport Village are proud to be staging the Long Island premiere of Ken Ludwig's 2012 Edgar Award Winning play for Best Mystery -- 'The Game's Afoot'. This play is a follow-up to Ludwig's 'Postmortem' which the Minstrels staged a few years earlier. Performances of 'The Game's Afoot' will be over two weekends tonight, October 25th and November 1st at 8 P.M and 3 P.M. matinee performances on Sunday, October 26th and November 2nd at Houghton Hall - Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 Main Street in scenic Northport Village. They are coming off their successful spring staging of "Wonder of the World" and also recently opened their Drama School --- Minstrel Academy, which provides Drama classes and workshops for both children and adults.
