Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) presents the TRU Writer-Director Communications Lab on Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 1pm to 7pm at The Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street, Studio 3C. If accepted into the lab, the cost is $75 ($60 for TRU members). Writer applications are available at www.truonline.org/DirectorLabFeb11.htm. Interested directors may email TRUnltd@aol.com and attach a brief resume. The lab will be taught by producers Pam Koslow (Jelly's Last Jam, Jane Eyre, Yank!) and director Robert Kalfin, former artistic director of Chelsea Theatre (Yentl, Strider, Candide).

The producers of Yank! A WWII Love Story announced today that award-winning director David Cromer will helm the upcoming Broadway production of the new musical by David and Joseph Zellnik. He replaces Igor Goldin, who directed the production off-Broadway this season.
Lortel Statues for 14 categories and 2 special awards were handed out by celebrity presenters at the 2010 Lucille Lortel Awards at a live awards ceremony tonight at Terminal 5. The New York Times is reporting that the Off-Broadway hit Yank! is now Broadway-bound for the 2010-2011 theatre season. No details on the theatre, schedule or if the cast would remain in tact were announced for the move, which is said to be budgeted at $5 million dollars.
