Cape May Stage has announced its 34th season as Cape May's premier professional theater. 

Cape May Stage, South Jersey's Premier Equity Theatre, located in Cape May N.J. Launches New Virtual Talk-Show, Cape May Arts Today hosted by Roy Steinberg.

Obie Award winner Metropolitan Playhouse will present free 'screened' readings of four new one-act plays inspired by life and history in the East Village, via live stream video, with talkback to follow, on Saturday, June 26th and 27th, 2020 at 8 PM, EDT.

Can you find your soulmate more than once? Loosely based on his three-week courtship of actress Marsha Mason, Neil Simon created George and Jennie - a couple each recovering from lost love. Classics in Color: An INclusive Theatre Company (CiC) brings the classical story of 'Much Ado About Nothing' in Shakespeare's words to present day New York City, March 21st - 25th, 2018. 'Much Ado' is CiC's first full solo production as a company, allowing its mission to shine in every aspect of the production: inclusive casting, inclusive producing team, inclusive team of designers, performed in a fully accessible venue, for audiences and actors with, or without, disabilities.

Break A Leg Productions kicks off its Historically Speaking series with a staged reading of The Brother. Written by John Hancock and Dorothy Tristan and based on the book by New York Times reporter Sam Roberts, The Brother looks at the case of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg from the viewpoint of Ethel's brother David Greenglass. The reading will take place on Monday, September 28 at 6:30pm at The Unity Center of New York City, located at 213 West 58th Street (between 7th Avenue and Broadway).

Performances began May 28th, with opening night set for tonight, June 11th at the Castillo Theater (543 West 42nd Street). Cape May Stage presents the New Jersey premiere of the riotously entertaining and uproariously funny Mistakes Were Made by Craig Wright, the Emmy-nominated writer of Six Feet Under and the award-winning playwright of Lady Grace and The Pavilion.

Act II Playhouse opened its sixteenth season last weekend with ROUNDING THIRD. This play, beautifully written by Richard Dresser, tells the story of two Little League coaches, who have very different attitudes towards the game. One coach, Michael, is the assistant coach who has little knowledge about baseball and how the game is played. The other coach, Don, has been coaching Little League for years and was part of a team in his childhood. This production of ROUNDING THIRD is brilliantly performed, moving and intelligently funny, making this show a season opener for the 2014/15 season at Act II Playhouse that knocks it out of the ball park.

GOD STEELING was a super interesting play. Couching this relationship story within the social and political climate of the early 1980s is not something that I frankly see enough. How race, social standing and culture plays into the lives of these union 'brothers' is a bottomless pool of material. Overall, I would like to have seen a bit more subtlety in the performances, but I do have to say that James Fenton's set is worth the price of admission.

Wave Productions in association with Shetler Studios & Theatres will present the World Premiere of Charles Cissel's GOD STEELING, a revealing look at the lives of New York City ironworkers. Directed by Robin A. Paterson, previews began March 8 at Theater 54. Opening is slated for tonight, March 14.
