Casting is being announced for the Broadway return of THE BOOK OF MORMON. The production, the winner of nine 2011 Tony Awards including Best Musical and the Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album, resumes performances on Friday, November 5, 2021 at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre (230 West 49th Street). 

Matthew Marks presents an exhibition of new work by Julia Phillips. Titled New Album, this is the artist's first one-person show at the gallery. The new show consists of four ambitious and relevant new works, in conversation with Phillips' other pieces that abstract the human body, and the systems that oppress it.

It provides emerging and established artists a hot-house environment for the presentation and discussion of their work, supporting and seeking to foster a vibrant, living dialogue among artists from every field and area of culture. Engaging both The Kitchen veterans and newcomers who challenge the given formations of art and politics, lifestyle and social structures, the Spring 2018 (March 28-July 27) season probes everything from the police state to the racial imaginary to self-construction and identity, utilizing the flexibility of the institution's spaces for art that itself eludes definition.

Swings are the super heroes of Broadway, plain and simple. This last week at Sessions, we put the spotlight on these magical unicorns of Broadway. You'll be blown away by performances from Dear Evan Hansen's Garrett Long, Book of Mormon's Matthew Marks and Keziah John-Paul, Cats and Newsies alum Aaron J. Albano, Aladdin's Lauryn Ciardullo, Beautiful and Motown's Nicholas Ryan, Miss Saigon's Viveca Chow, Avenue Q's Jed Resnick and Imari Hardon, Anastasia's Kathryn Boswell and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory's Michael Williams. We also enjoyed performances by Rising Stars Mackenzie Messick and Jose Plaza. ENJOY these incredible talents!

What is it about the scale, sites, and sounds of the open road that has made it an object of continuing fascination for contemporary art? The exhibition PARIS TEXAS takes its cue from key scenes in the celebrated 1984 film Paris, Texas by German avant-garde filmmaker Wim Wenders. 

For decades after MoMA's 1936 exhibition Cubism and Abstract Art Alfred Barr's iconic diagram was the image of modern art's history: a series of -isms hung on a genealogical tree, from post-Impressionism to Surrealism.

Meandering, Abstractly, featuring works by Martin Barre, Sheila Hicks, Julije Knifer, Mangelos and Bernard Piffaretti, currated by Paul Galvez, will be on view January 14 - March 25, 2017 at galerie frank elbaz.

Award-winning actor Rupert Everett will give a reading of Oscar Wilde's final work The Ballad of Reading Gaol from the former prison chapel on Sunday 4 December 2016, the closing day of Inside: Artists and Writers in Reading Prison. 

Fall is officially in the air school is in full session. We recently went back to school at Broadway Sessions, inviting some Broadway favorites to perform the roles they sang in their high school musicals. And maybe a song or 2 they didn't get to, because (fill in the blank) got the part over them. The revenge was sweet, the stories hysterical and the voices unreal.
