James Beaman, a force to reckon with in the cabaret scene of the Nineties, has been quietly working behind the scenes, of late, as a director. Well, he's ready to get back into the spotlight, twenty years after trading in his wigs for some iambic pentameter.

On May 21 of this year, BroadwayWorld threw a big party at Sony Hall in the heart of the theatre district, celebrating our 20th anniversary year online and in the community. It's an evening that I won't soon forget, and it all benefitted our longtime friends and collaborators at Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. And the venue itself, Sony Hall, couldn't have been nicer to us or more cooperative. 

It's time once again for a bright light to shine on Broken Arrow as Emmy and Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth returns to town-along with some of her Broadway buddies-for the eighth annual Broadway Bootcamp, coming to the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center July 19 to 29.

After a five-year hiatus, Schroeder will return to his hometown high school to raise money for this benefit concert. The Todd Schroeder's Young Artist Grant (YAG) was started in 1995 for visual and performing arts students at Sonora High School in Sonora, California. Since its inception, over 50 grants have been awarded.

Such a big stage and a big job... and Kristin Chenoweth is totally equal to the task.

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade returns this year for its traditional in-person celebration, following last year's made-for-TV edition due to COVID-19. BroadwayWorld was there for the second day of rehearsals for the big day, and you can check out the photos here!

Kattam Katti is a new dance/theatre performance from Pagrav Dance Company created by Urja Desai Thakore (recently a BBC Young Dancer choreographer) that transports its audience to Uttarayan, the world-famous kite festival that takes place in Gujarat, North India. One of the city's most famous jazz institutions, Birdland is making a long-anticipated return to live performances next week with one of New York's most elegant and beloved piano men, Billy Stritch. Birdland has been Stritch's artistic home base for nearly two decades. He has played for some of the biggest names in show business and has been a staple of Monday nights at Jim Caruso's CAST PARTY.
