The Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) announced the opening of 'Inventing the Supernatural: Bringing Horror from Script to Screen,' a multi-media exhibition featuring the work of ADG 800 members, at the newly renovated VAMA Gallery (formerly the Da Vinci Gallery) on the Los Angeles City College (LACC) campus. 

The Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) announced winners of its 26th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards in 13 categories of film, television, commercials, music videos and animation features, during a black-tie dinner gala at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown on Saturday night, March 5, 2022. 

Ida Random’s career spanned 42 years and over 30 films, highlighted by an Academy Award nomination for Rain Manin 1988. Other projects include The War of The Roses, Hoffa, Body Double, Wyatt Earp, The Postman, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Throw Momma From the Train, Chasing Mavericks and the remake of Roots TV mini-series, to name a few. 

West Side Story and The Tragedy of Macbeth were nominated for Best Period Feature Film. In the Heights was nominated for Best Contemporary Feature Film. Encanto was nominated for Best Animated Feature Film. Only Murders in the Building and Schmigadoon! were nominated for Best Half Hour Single-Camera Series. Check out the full list of nominations.

The UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television announced today that Academy Award-winning costume designer Ruth E. Carter (Black Panther) will be the keynote speaker and Academy Award-winning production designer Hannah Beachler (Black Panther) will give welcome remarks during the 19th annual Design Showcase West (DSW) on Saturday, June 5, 2021, taking place in a dynamic virtual format this year.

The Art Directors Guild announced winners of its 25th Annual ADG Awards in 11 categories of film, television, commercials, and music videos on Saturday night, April 10, 2021. Mank (Donald Graham Burt), Tenet (Nathan Crowley), Da 5 Bloods (Wynn Thomas), and Soul (Steve Pilcher), won Best Production Design for Feature Film.

'From his Oscar nominated design for Hannah and Her Sisters to his iconic evocation of New York during the AIDS crisis of the 1980s in Angels in America, Stuart Wurtzel's contribution to the art of Production Design stands alone,' said Mark Worthington, Art Directors Council Chair.

Winners will be honored at the 2020 Awards at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown on Saturday, February 1, 2020. Oscarâ-nominated Production Designer Joe Alves, best known for his work on Close Encounters of the Third Kind and the three Jaws films, will receive the Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) Lifetime Achievement Award at the 24th Annual ADG 'Excellence in Production Design' Awards. A true veteran of Hollywood's studio system, Alves is a master artist, art director, production designer, producer and director. The 2020 ADG Awards will return to the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown in the Wilshire Grand Ballroom on Saturday, February 1, 2020. This is the first of four Lifetime Achievement Awards to be announced by the Art Directors Guild.

Television winners included The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Bill Groom), The Handmaid's Tale (Mark White, Elisabeth Williams), The Alienist (Mara LePere-Schloop), Glow (Todd Fjelsted), and Sesame Street (David Gallo) respectively. Additional winners include Apple: Welcome Home(Christopher Glass) and The Oscars: 90th Academy Awards (Derek McLane).

The Art Directors Guild last night announced winners of its 23rd Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards in 11 categories of film, television, commercials, music videos and animation features, during a black-tie dinner gala at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown.

Rob Marshall, Oscar-nominee, DGA and Emmy-award winning filmmaker, producer, theater director and choreographer whose films have consistently reflected the highest quality of production design, will receive the prestigious Cinematic Imagery Award from the Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE, Local 800) at its 23 rd Annual Art Directors Guild's Excellence in Production Design Awards. The 2019 Awards, themed 'Production Design: Landscape of the Imagination,' will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown and will honor the prestigious spectrum of Marshall's extraordinary award-winning work. The announcement was made today by ADG Council Chairman Mark Worthington ADG and Awards Producers Scott Moses ADG and Marco Miehe ADG.

'Blade Runner 2049' (Dennis Gassner), 'The Shape of Water' (Paul Denham Austerberry), 'Coco' (Harley Jessup), and 'Logan' (Francois Audouy), won Best Production Design for Feature Film. Television winners included 'The Handmaid's Tale' (Julie Berghoff), 'Portlandia' (Schuyler Telleen), 'Will & Grace' (Glenda Rovella), 'Black Mirror' (Joel Collins, Phil Sims), and 'Game of Thrones' (Deborah Riley) 'Glow' (Todd Fjelsted), and 'Star Wars Battlefront II: Rivalry/PS4' (Jason Edmonds), respectively.

The Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) tonight announced winners of its 20th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards, in 11 categories of film, television, commercials and music videos during a black-tie ceremony at The Beverly Hilton.

In the television category of Awards or Event Special, Tony Award winner Derek McLane received two nominations, including his work as production designer for the 2015 OSCARS and NBC's THE WIZ LIVE.
