Sky Comedy Rep Hosts Festival of Comedic Short Plays This Weekend
The Rep's ground-breaking collaboration with Sky Studios comes to fruition this March as audiences are invited to be amongst the first to enjoy the work of the comedy writing stars of the future. Sky Comedy Rep will host its first-ever festival of new comedic short plays at Birmingham Rep from 3-5 March 2022.

Abdul Shayek was announced last year as the new artistic director and joint CEO of Tara Theatre (formerly Tara Arts), the British Asian company founded in 1977 in direct response to a racist attack on a Sikh teenager. Based in southwest London, Tara Theatre is the only building-based South Asian theatre company in the UK and is marking its new directorship with an ambitious and provocative new season as outlined by Shayek below.

Tara Theatre has announced casting for 2020, 12 new stories from 12 writers (3 international and 9 from across England) responding to the challenges of 2020 and 2021, but from a completely local perspective. 2020 features in Abdul Shayek's first programme as Artistic Director for the newly rebranded Tara Theatre.
Cast And Creative Team Announced For Tour of SHANDYLAND
Spanning twenty years, Shandyland is a story of life, love, death and drink at the heart of a small, northern, family-run pub, and a shout of frustration from an abandoned working class community. Shandyland opens at Northern Stage (12-23 May), and after its Newcastle premiere will tour to Everyman, Liverpool (27 May - 6 June)
