Eclipse Theatre Company, the only Midwest theatre company to feature one playwright in one season, will begin their 2020 Caryl Churchill Season this spring with a production of Cloud 9, with Rachel Lambert directing.

Eclipse Theatre Company, the only Midwest theatre company to feature one playwright in one season, will begin their 2018 William Inge Season this spring with a production of his rarely produced 1962 play Natural Affection, with Rachel Lambert making her Eclipse directorial debut.

One of Shakespeare's classic romances, AS YOU LIKE IT, is currently running at First Folio Theatre through August 20. The company has received some complaints about its casting decisions and released a 'Statement of Artistic Integrity' in response.

The cast of Raven Theatre Company's premiere of Tennessee Williams' Not About Nightingales has been announced, with Raven Founding Artistic Director Michael Menendian directing. The play's action revolves around the tyrannical prison warden Boss Whalen's inhumane treatment of the inmates in his island prison.  Deciding they have had enough, and inspired by their de facto leader Butch, the inmates of Hall C fight back by waging a hunger strike. When it garners media attention, Boss Whalen responds with torture.  All the while, Whalen's inmate assistant Jim and new secretary Eva struggle with the moral dilemma of either exposing the strike and losing their jobs or assisting Whalen in keeping it under wraps.

Kasey Foster makes her directorial debut with Kevin Cox playing the title role in this absurd satire that uses loose history to comment on a complicated present. ROMULUS opens today, October 11, 2014, and runs through November 22, 2014, at Oracle Theatre (3809 N. Broadway in Chicago). Performances are Friday, Saturday and Monday nights at 8PM; Sundays at 7PM.

Oak Park Festival Theatre (OPFT), the Midwest's oldest Equity outdoor classical theatre, announces its 40th season: Hamlet directed by Lavina Jadwahli and The Importance of Being Earnest directed by Kevin Theis.

Commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, Lifeline Theatre presents Karen Tarjan's adaptation of Michael Shaara's Pulitzer Prize-winning Civil War novel, The Killer Angels (originally commissioned by Lifeline in 2004). The production will be directed by Matt Miller, who joins Lifeline Theatre as a director for the first time. ?A cast of ten actors brings over twenty historical characters to life, led by returning artist Don Benderas General Robert E.
