Music Theater Works, recently launched its 43rd season with the highly recommended Avenue Q, has announced the cast and creative team for its second production in the 2023 season, Pippin in the North Theatre at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts In Skokie, 9501 Skokie Blvd, Skokie, June 1 - 25.

Music Theater Works’s production of the Tony-Award winning La Cage Aux Folles, music and lyrics by Jerry Herman, book by Harvey Fierstein, directed by Producing Artistic Director Kyle Dougan and music directed by Kyra Leigh with choreography by Christopher Chase Carter is now playing through April 3.

Music Theater Works will present 'Legends Of The 50s And 60s: Greatest Hits' at North Shore Center For The Performing Arts (9501 Skokie Blvd, Skokie, IL 60076) from June 18, 2021 through June 27, 2021 as the first production of the 2021 season.

Music Theater Works has announced its 2019 season, opening with the Pulitzer Prize-winning HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING (June 8-16), followed by the Chicago professional premiere of THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (August 17-25), LERNER AND LOEWE'S GREATEST HITS (October 4-13), and JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT (December 21-31).

Music Theater Works has announced the appointment of Kyle Dougan as Producing Artistic Director Designate, effective October 1, 2018, and the retirement of General Manager Bridget McDonough and Artistic Director Rudy Hogenmiller, effective January, 2020.

Amber Mak, Founding Artistic Director of FWD Theatre Project, the not-for- profit arts organization dedicated to the Discovery, Development, and Delivery of the new American musical, is stepping down from her position to assume the role of New Works Development Director at Paramount Theatre in Aurora.

Inspired by the blockbuster 1960 Roger Corman film, the monster musical hit LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS comes to Theatre at the Center, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, now through August 19. Theatre at the Center's production, boasting glorious refurbishments of the plants from the original New York production, is directed and choreographed by Stacey Flaster. The production will open Sunday, July 10 at 7 p.m. Stacey Flaster will direct and choreograph. THE WIZ first opened on Broadway in 1975 and ran for four years (1600 performances). It made a historic footprint as the first large-scale big-budget musical featuring an all-African American cast. THE WIZ won seven Tony Awards including Best Musical and was produced in 1978 by Motown/Universal as a film starring Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Lena Horne, and Richard Pryor.
