Drayton Entertainment announces casting for Rocky: The Musical. This adrenaline-fueled musical based on Sylvester Stallone's Academy© Award-winning film will launch the 2019 Season at the Hamilton Family Theatre Cambridge. The production will run for four weeks from March 6 to March 31.

Angelwalk Theatre in association with Winnipeg Studio Theatre are presenting the Canadian premiere of Adam Gwon's musical ORDINARY DAYS. Ordinary Days is kicking off Angelwalk Theatre's 2012-2013 Season at The Toronto Centre for the Arts. The show features four of Canada's brightest up and coming musical theatre talents, and BWW sat down to speak with three of them about their best and worst romantic movie and stage choices.

On June 27th Toronto celebrated the 32nd Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards which honour excellence in Canada theatre. BWW was on hand for the complete event, including the VIP reception where nominees mingled with sponsors and patrons, the award show itself and of course, the happening after-party which shut down Front St for most of the night. At a press conference held June 7 at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts, the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announced 171 nominations for 197 eligible productions that opened between June 1, 2010 and May 31, 2011 for the 32nd annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards which honour excellence in the performing arts in Toronto.

Toronto audiences are getting another Jason Robert Brown musical this season, as Angelwalk Theatre presents Songs for a New World at the Toronto Centre for the Arts. Toronto audiences have historically embraced Mr. Brown's work, in fact this winter Studio 180's production of Parade was virtually sold out at every performance.
