Jonathan Pearson BIO

Jonathan Pearson is a native of Dallas, Texas. After moving to Branson, Missouri, when he was 10-years-old, Jonathan performed for years around the Branson area in many shows—working with such entertainers as Debby Boone, Jerry Van Dyke, Ed McMahon--even Anita Bryant!--while simultaneously getting his education. Upon graduating from high school, Jonathan headed to Kansas City to pursue his college education. He has studied voice with Bob Marks (NYC) and Seth Riggs and Richard Fredricks (LA). Along with voice, dance and acting, he has studied piano, bassoon, trumpet and violin, winning numerous awards with his classical training. He also attended Interlochen Arts Camp in 2004. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Jewish studies. He recently published an article, "From Wellesley to Yale, 1969-1979: A Textual Analysis of Hillary Rodham's Early Written Rhetoric," in the journal Young Scholars in Writing. Jonathan spent 2010 and 2011 performing under the direction of Sam Viverito at The Shoji Tabuchi Show in Branson! He recently workshopped "Central Park: The Musical" and performed in the "Bound for Broadway" showcases and "Off the Books! A Cole Porter Unpublished Cabaret" at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre. He will be performing the role of "Max, Sr./Reginald" in the Off-Broadway show "Pageant Princess: The Musical," directed by Shaun Peknic. His one-man show "An Evening with Jonny!," directed by John Forslund, is July 5 at The Duplex. He is a current member of The Actor's Project NYC (TAPNYC).
