Janet Aldrich has been featured in 6 Broadway shows including "Annie" as the Star To Be, "Me And My Girl" as the final Lady Jacqueline, and she created the role of Maligna in "Starmites" in the original Broadway production (cast recording). "The Three Musketeers"; "Broadway" directed and written by Mr. George Abbott; "Applause" as Karen, directed by Gene Saks and choreographed by Anne Reinking. She originated the role of Mistress Dainty in the Off Broadway production of the West End hit, "Lust." Miss Aldrich has also appeared on Saturday Night Live and Guiding Light, and in the indy sensation, "Jails Hospitals and Hip Hop" by the talented Danny Hoch. Her greatest role was playing Sally Bowles in the all-French Jerome Savary production of "Cabaret" in Paris and all over Europe for which she received a Victoire de la Musique. Other awards and nominations include a Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical for "Forbidden Broadway" (Washington, 1986-1987) and 2 People's Choice awards for "Song of Singapore" and "Into The Woods"; and Outstanding Performance Award for 2017 NYMF's production of "Ben, Virginia and Me: The Liberace Musical" for her Sophie Tucker.

The original Off Broadway cast recording of “Other Lives: The Story Songs of Michael Colby” (Jay Records), a cycle of story songs by lyricist Michael Colby (Charlotte Sweet, Ludlow Ladd), with music by a variety of composers, including Alex Rybeck, Larry Hochman, Joseph Thalken, Steven Silverstein, will be officially released on CD and all digital music platforms on Friday, June 16th.

New York Musical Festival Announces 2017 Winners for NYMF Awards for Excellence


The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) announced today the winners of the 2017 NYMF Awards for Excellence, which were awarded on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Hudson Terrace (621 W 46th St, New York, NY 10036). The 2017 NYMF Award for Best Musical Sponsored by Play-by-Play was awarded to GENERATION ME, with the Show-Score Best of Fest Awards for Readings, Concerts/Events and Productions, going to CHRISTMAS IN HELL, DORIAN GRAY, and ERROL AND FIDEL, respectively. GENERATION ME took home the most awards, with GEORAMA: AN AMERICAN PANORAMA TOLD ON 3 MILES OF CANVAS, ERROL AND FIDEL, and FREEDOM RIDERS taking home multiple prizes as well.
