One of the most highly regarded singers in popular music, Jack Jones, turns 82 on January 14, 2020. Frank Sinatra called the two-time Grammy Award-winner, Jack Jones, “one of the major singers of our time” and Mel Torme declared him “the greatest 'pure' singer in the world.” Jones' vast catalog (over 80 albums deep) yielded countless timeless hits including: “The Impossible Dream,” “Wives and Lovers,” “The Love Boat,” “If You Ever Leave Me,” “Call Me Irresponsible,” “Lollipops and Roses” and “The Race is On.” Jones maintains an active international performance schedule amid radio, TV and personal appearances.

Palm Beach gave him a standing ovation after his thrilling rendition of Man of La Mancha, one of Jack's signature songs.

Written and directed by Dead Puppet Society's Creative Director David Morton, The Wider Earth was initially conceived in 2013 in Cape Town during a mentorship with Handspring Puppet Company, the creative team behind War Horse. This visually spectacular production features 30 extraordinary puppets representing the tropical wildlife Darwin encountered on his voyage. The production will have its European premiere in the first performance theatre ever to be built at the Natural History Museum.

Jack Jones was born in Hollywood on the night his singer/movie star father, Allan Jones, recorded his hit 'Donkey Serenade." He would make his famous parents (his mother was the elegant actress Irene Hervey) proud for the diversity and breadth of his talent. Jack attended University High School in West Los Angeles, studying drama and singing with private teachers. A young athlete, he gave up track and football to devote himself to the arts.
