Tim Blum announced the renaming of Blum & Poe to BLUM as well as plans to open a new and larger New York location in 2024. As the gallery looks ahead to its 30th anniversary next year, its renaming and launch of a new space together mark the beginning of the next chapter and celebrate its continued evolution.

 Blum & Poe have announced the next chapter of the gallery’s trajectory with Jeff Poe stepping back from his role and Tim Blum spearheading the gallery’s global team in building on its history of championing international artists. The gallery also announced that longtime New York-based Partner Matt Bangser has been appointed to the newly created position of Managing Partner.

The Rubell Museum today announced that its new campus will open on December 4, 2019 with a museum-wide installation of works that chronicle key artists, moments, and movements in vital arts centers over the past 50 years, from the East Village to Beijing, Los Angeles to Leipzig, and São Paulo to Tokyo

This fall, The Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami (ICA Miami) will present two major solo career-spanning surveys of Judy Chicago and Larry Bell, highlighting the range and depth of each artist's practice beyond the artistic movements they are each associated with. Titled the floaters, this large-scale mural will be hand-painted by a professional sign company on the wall of a building overlooking the High Line at West 22nd Street, and will be visible from the park as well as the street below.

As he says in the artist statement, 'The act of using a brush loaded with wet material to bring an imagined thing to life remains elusive, if not downright shifty. And the performance can be both meditative and manic, demanding guts - like all creative endeavors - and a great deal of honest reflection and introspection, plus a cool capacity to eliminate non essentials.' Poet Mary Morris, writing in Montserrat Review has said of Galvin's work, 'It is a comfort and a blessing (as the Irish might say) to hear a voice from the rich landscape of a country with such strong and ancient tradition of poetry, this Celtic land of Atlantic Europe.' The Byrd Hoffman Water Mill Foundation celebrated its 23rd Annual Summer Benefit & Auction, a one-of-a-kind evening bringing together over 1,000 guests from the worlds of theater, art, performance, fashion, design, and society at The Watermill Center on Saturday, July 30. The event, entitled FADA: HOUSE OF MADNESS, featured new works by Watermill's International Summer Program participants that came from over 25 countries to create installations and performances throughout the eight and-a-half acre grounds. This year, The Watermill Center honored Madame Giancarla Berti.

The Frist Center for the Visual Arts will present 30 Americans, an exhibition surveying works by many of the nation's leading African American artists working since the mid-1970s. Often provocative and challenging, the exhibition explores how artists relate their own sense of self to ideas within history, popular culture and contemporary mass media central to American society. 30 Americans will be on view in the Center's Ingram Gallery from today, Oct. 11, 2013 through Jan. 12, 2014.

Klaus Biesenbach, Director of MoMA PS1 and Chief Curator at Large at The Museum of Modern Art, announced today that Peter Eleey has been named Curator and Associate Director of Exhibitions and Programs at MoMA PS1. In this role, Eleey will continue to serve as the museum's lead curator, while also working closely with Mr. Biesenbach to expand the institution's exhibitions and programs and to build its overall capacity in partnership with colleagues at The Museum of Modern Art.
