The Greenhouse Ensemble, under the Artistic Direction of its Founder Hazen Cuyler, announced that as part of the company's milestone ten-year anniversary, it will present the world premiere of Muse, a gripping family drama written by Frank Tangredi.

Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, in a new production by Ruth Stage, will play The Theater at St. Clements (423 W. 46th Street) beginning previews July 15, and opening night is set for July 24. The original scheduled run of this production, which had been announced for January, 2022, was postponed due to the ongoing health crisis.

The Greenhouse Ensemble, a company devoted to cultivating a positive, judgment-free environment where artists create fully-realized work, announces the first offering in its new workshop program for artists. Founding Artistic Director, Hazen Cuyler, said the new initiative will begin with The Playwright Reading Workshop, led by Kim T. Sharp.

This winter, renowned Russian stage director Aleksey Burago brings to life the dark humor of Nikolai Gogol in Avenue of Wonder. One evening, while strolling along Nevsky Prospekt, the central avenue that remains to this day the main artery of St. Petersburg, a distraught artist and a brazen lieutenant encounter a mysterious prostitute and a young housewife. In their separate pursuits of the women through the labyrinths of side streets, courtyards and winding staircases, both men come to realize all is not what it seems on the glittery avenue. As the rational plane of life slant beneath their feet, these comic and self-deluding characters soon discover that between everything ordinary there is a crack and deep in the shadows, peering up, are the maddening fantasies of the human soul.
