Guillaume Cote

Principal Dancer Guillaume Cote has been invited to appear as a Guest Artist with The Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow, Russia. Mr. Cote will dance the role of Romeo in Alexei Ratmansky's Romeo and Juliet on December 15, 2018 at the Bolshoi Theatre's New Stage, a role he originated when the ballet premiered in Toronto in 2011. Mr. Cote is one of very few Canadians, and the first dancer from Quebec, who have danced with The Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow; that number includes Ms. Kain who performed with them in the 1970's.

On Thursday, October 25, 2018, at 7:30pm in Alice Tully Hall, violinist Robert Mealy directs Juilliard415 in "Chaos and Order: The Dance Music of Jean-Philippe Rameau" with new choreography created by Juilliard dance students Ethan Colangelo, Maddie Hanson, and Moscelyn ParkeHarrison. Building on the success of last season's production of Hippolyte et Aricie, this program celebrates the kinetic energy and musical invention of Rameau's dance music and includes his striking overtures to Nais, Les fetes de Polymnie, and Zoroastre.

The National Ballet of Canada opens its summer season with a mixed programme of twentieth century works.

The season features the Canadian premiere of The Tempest by Alexei Ratmansky and the return of Kenneth MacMillan's Manon, after an absence of 16 years. Alice's Adventures in Wonderlandby Christopher Wheeldon and Nijinsky by John Neumeier are back due to popular demand and Principal Dancer and Choreographic Associate Guillaume Cote will create a new work. The 2014/15 season will continue the company's touring activity with performances in Los Angeles and Ottawa.

Casting for American Ballet Theatre's 2013 Fall Season at the David H. Koch Theater was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie.

The National Ballet of Canada's annual gala fundraiser took place this past Wednesday, raising $1 million for the company. Hosted by the CBC's Jian Ghomeshi, the Carmen inspired evening entitled MAD HOT BALLET brought together some of Toronto's best dressed arts lovers and proved to be a magical evening. The 2012 Dora Mavor Moore Awards took place this past Monday night, honouring the best of the best of the past year in Toronto theatre. The evening featured a pre-show VIP reception at The Sony Centre, a gala awards ceremony and the ever popular street party that takes place after the show under the stars on Front St. BWW was on hand to bring you pictures from the event and all the winners!

This past Wednesday, The National Ballet of Canada celebrated their 60th Anniversary with a gala event at The Four Seasons Centre for the Arts. The evening embraced a 'Diamond' theme, with gorgeous tutus on display throughout the centre showcasing designs from all over the world. Guests were invited to watch highlights from the Ballet's impressive repertoire and then had a gala dinner and dance on the stage of the Centre.
