As 2018 comes to a close, we are reflecting on those we have lost in the Broadway and theatre communities throughout the year.

As we approach TONY Awards weekend, we thought we'd catch up with Broadway veteran Baayork Lee, who last week proudly brought her National Asian Artists Project (NAAP) Chorus to the Lillian Booth Actors Home of The Actors Fund, in Engelwood, NJ, on Thursday, May 31. The revered Fund's Home takes care of our own in the industry, whether actor, stagehand, usher, company manager, producer, etc. The Chorus loves going there. This was their second year and, next year, they hope to go twice a year, as it's such a satisfying exchange on both sides. Among the many residents of interest are Fran Liebergall, former assistant to Marvin Hamlisch and Billy Porter's Mom, Cloerinda Ford.

As BroadwayWorld sadly reported yesterday, Sammy Williams, best known for his Tony Award winning performance as Paul San Marco in the original production of A Chorus Line, has passed away yesterday morning at 69. As Paul San Marco, Mr. Williams was also awarded the prestigious Obie Award and was given a Special Theatre World Award for his contribution to that production.

In honor of Lucie Arnaz's birthday, Rick McKay, the producer/director of Rick McKay's Broadway: The Golden Age Film Trilogy, just unveiled never-before-seen-footage of Lucie and Robert Klein recreating their original roles from THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG, 31 years later at a benefit for musical director Fran Liebergall in 2010, honoring Marvin Hamlisch.
