David Fynn BIO

David Fynn is a British actor known for his work on stage, television, and film. He was born on May 30, 1981, in London, England. He grew up in a family of performers, with his father being a musician and his mother being a dancer. Fynn attended the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where he honed his craft and developed a passion for acting.
Fynn's Broadway debut was in the 2015 musical "School of Rock," where he played the lead role of Dewey Finn, a struggling musician who becomes a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. Fynn's performance was praised by critics and audiences alike, with The New York Times calling him "a force of nature" and Entertainment Weekly declaring him "a star in the making." Fynn received a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance.
Prior to his Broadway debut, Fynn had a successful career in London's West End. He appeared in several productions, including "The 39 Steps," "The History Boys," and "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Fynn also appeared in the original London cast of "Legally Blonde: The Musical," where he played the role of Emmett Forrest.
In addition to his stage work, Fynn has also appeared on television and in film. He had a recurring role on the British comedy series "Undateable," where he played the character Brett. Fynn also appeared in the British series "Pete Versus Life" and "Game of Thrones," where he played the character of Rast. On the big screen, Fynn appeared in the films "Leap Year" and "Black Death."
Fynn's most recent work includes the role of Todd in the Amazon Prime series "Carnival Row," which premiered in 2019. The series is a fantasy drama set in a Victorian-inspired world filled with mythical creatures. Fynn's performance in the series was praised by critics, with Variety calling him "a standout" and The Hollywood Reporter declaring him "charismatic and engaging."
In addition to his acting work, Fynn is also a musician. He plays guitar and sings, and has performed in several bands. Fynn's musical talents were showcased in his performance in "School of Rock," where he played guitar and sang several songs.
