One-Act Version Of AMAZING GRACE To Be Installed Into Washington, DC's Museum Of The Bible


The Broadway musical AMAZING GRACE, which launched its successful national tour last year with an eight-week run at The Museum of the Bible, will return with its inspirational message as the Museum's newest installation in its Pure Flix World Stages.  It will begin performances on March 16 and run through August 18, 2019.

Emmy Award Winner Don Scardino to Direct Tony Nominee Elizabeth Davis' New Musical MY NAME'S NOT INDIAN JOE


Emmy Award winner Don Scardino (A Few Good Men, 30 Rock) will be directing TONY and Drama Desk Award nominated actress Elizabeth A. Davis' (Once, Allegro) developmental production of MY NAME'S NOT INDIAN JOE. Created and conceived by Ms. Davis, the new musical is based on true events and will run July 11th through July 22nd at the Davenport Theatre, 354 West 45th Street.

Writers Theatre presents The Diary of Anne Frank by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, adapted by Wendy Kesselman and directed by Kimberly Senior. The show runs February 24 - June 28, 2015 at Books on Vernon, 664 Vernon Avenue, Glencoe. The Press Openings are Wednesday, March 4, and Thursday, March 5, 2015.

Qui Nguyen to Write New Play for Waterwell; Premieres This Spring


Waterwell, one of the Village Voice's Best Arguments for Devised Theater and creators of GOODBAR and #9, continues its annual series of developmental workshop productions by commissioning a new play from Qui Nguyen (The Inexplicable Redemption of Agent G, She Kills Monsters) for its senior Drama Class of 2015 at the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS). To be directed by longtime collaborator, Robert Ross Parker (Goodbye Cruel World, co-artistic director of Vampire Cowboys), the piece will premiere at PPAS in April 2015.

Connecticut's premier outdoor Shakespeare will present As You Like It, tonight, June 13-30, 2013. The show is one of Shakespeare's most beloved and pastoral comedies. Claire Shannon Kelly, currently the Director of Youth Programming for Shakespeare on the Sound and the director of the company's touring educational program, 'Speaking Daggers,' will direct. Kelly previously worked at the Ordway Theater, the Guthrie Theater, the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and the George Street Playhouse. She is a resident of New Canaan.

The stars of Off-Broadway's hit comedy HOW TO BE A NEW YORKER performed live for THE RIDE on May 8th in Times Square. As the giant tour bus approached the Lyceum Theatre on 45th Street, it stopped in front of HOW TO BE A NEW YORKER's Margaret Copeland and Kevin James Doyle clad in elderly garb on the sidewalk. To the delight of the passengers, they performed the opening sketch of the show in which two altkakas bitterly (and hilariously) complain about a bygone New York City before gentrification wiped out all the fun.
