On Sunday April 26th, La-Ti-Do DC will present an evening of Musical Theater and Spoken Word at the Bowery Poetry Club.
The award-winning Astoria Performing Arts Center has announced their Midwinter Reading Series, consisting of a play and a musical, that will be presented at the Queens Council on the Arts, supported by grants from the Dramatist Guild Fund and the Department of Cultural Affairs.
On Monday, August 4th, Broadway Sings for The Trevor Project was held at Metropolitan Room. Performers included Marisha Wallace (Disney's Aladdin) singing 'Titanium,' Brian Craft (Avenue Q, Revival of LMPC) singing 'Caught in the Storm,' Rachel Lorin (Recording Artist, Star of Oxygen's The Next Big Thing) singing 'Faithfully', Brian Detlefs (Trails: the Musical) singing 'Coda,' and Ashton Foster (You're Really Not Helping) singing 'Stay,' Gavin Rohrer (Revival of LMPC).

Broadway Sings for The Trevor Project Concert is tonight, Monday August 4th at The Metropolitan Room. Red Carpet Cocktail Hour begins at 9:00PM with the performance beginning shortly after. Internationally acclaimed actress and singer Joanna Carpenter will be making her New York City solo show debut tonight, March 26, 2014 at Stage72 (formerly The Triad Theatre), 158 W 72nd Street at 9pm.
Born in Berkeley, California in the 1960s, Joshua Redman is the son of legendary saxophonist Dewey Redman and dancer Renee Shedroff. He is one of the most recognizable jazz saxophonists, as famous for his masterful straight-ahead post-bop improvisations as he is for his explorations of groove-based idioms. Redman won the prestigious Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition for saxophone in 1991, and has played alongside of many jazz icons including Jack DeJohnette, Charlie Haden, Joe Lovano, Pat Metheny, and Clark Terry.
