Monk Parrots are currently presenting their New York premiere of Gabriel Jason Dean's (Princeton Hodder Fellow, Dramatist's Guild Fellowship, Broadway Blacklist) critically acclaimed play TERMINUS, directed by Lucie Tiberghien (The Other Thing, Don't Go Gentle, Soldier X, Hoodoo Love, The Pavilion). TERMINUS runs through March 10 in a limited engagement at NEXT DOOR at NYTW, located at 83 East 4th Street between Bowery and 2nd Avenue in New York City. Previews began on February 17 for a February 20 opening.

Stagedoor Manor to Present First Reading of 'THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER'


Stagedoor Manor, the country's premiere summertime training ground for young performers, announced today that it will hold the first ever reading of a newly-licensed musical, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever - The Musical, based on the 1971 best-selling book by Barbara Robinson. With book and lyrics by Jahnna Beecham, and music and lyrics by Malcolm Hillgartner, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever - The Musical can now be licensed through Playscripts, Inc. to be staged worldwide. Today's reading, directed by John Bronston with musical direction by Liz Toleno, features a complete cast of Stagedoor Manor students.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announces nine awards granted from their National Fund for New Musicals, a major funding program to support NAMT member not-for-profit theatres in their collaborations with writers to create, develop and produce new musicals. Now in its sixth year, the Fund will provide grants totaling $35,500 to nine organizations across the country.

'Theater Geek,' penned by GQ Senior Editor and author of 'Pitch Perfect,' is published by Free Press, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, Inc. and will be released June 1, 2010.
