The League of Professional Theatre Womenan organization which has championed women in the professional theatre for four decades, today announced the youngest, most diverse leadership in its history: co-presidents Mary E. Hodges & Katrin Hilbe, and Executive Vice President, Malini Singh McDonald.  

Alia Jones-Harvey to Take Part in ORAL HISTORY PROJECT Presented by The League of Professional Theatre Women


The League of Professional Theatre Women will present an Oral History Project event with the 4-time Tony Award-nominated producer Alia Jones-Harvey on Monday, May 24 at 6pm on Zoom. The Oral History Project chronicles and documents the contributions of significant theatre women in all fields.

Betty Corwin, Founder Of NYPL's Theatre On Film And Tape Archive, Dies at 98


The Theatre on Film and Tape Archive (TOFT), The Billy Rose Theatre Division, The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, and the NYPL community have announced the passing of Betty L. Corwin, who died Tuesday, September 10, at the age of 98 at her home in Weston, Connecticut surrounded by loved ones. The Founder and Director (from 1969 - 2000) of the Library's groundbreaking Theatre on Film and Tape Archive, Betty created one of the most important and vital resources in the worldwide theatre community.

Lee, who originated the role of Connie in A Chorus Line, will be discussing her extensive life and work in the theatre with theatre writer ROBERT VIAGAS, her collaborator and biographer on their book, 'On the Line: the Creation of A Chorus Line'.The event will take place in the Bruno Walter Auditorium of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts on 65th Street & Amsterdam Avenue. Admission is free, seats are available on a first-come-first-seated basis. Doors open at 5:30PM, and it is recommended that members of the public arrive at the Bruno Walter Auditorium by 5PM to secure a seat.
