This week, Dramatists Play Service's social media channel, 'DPS On Air,' features Maulik Pancholy, Andy Phelan, and Lori Prince - the original cast of the 59E59 production of Ken Urban's play 'The Awake'­- performing monologues from the play.

Agatha Christie's classic who-done-it, THE MOUSETRAP, which opened March 11 at the McCarter Theatre Centre in Princeton, is splendid. It would be hard for anyone to create a better 'mousetrap' than this performance directed by Adam Immerwahr.

Mayhem and suspicion abound with McCarter Theatre's new production of Agatha Christie's seminal thriller THE MOUSETRAP, directed by Adam Immerwahr. The production runs now through March 27 on the Matthews Stage. Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap is a master class in murder/mystery. Called "The cleverest murder mystery of British theatre" by The Daily Telegraph, the world's longest-running play (currently in its 64rd season on the West End) contains all the trimmings and trappings of the perfect stage thriller.

USELESS, Saviana Stanescu's dark-humored drama about human trafficking, ends its limited run at IRT Theater, downtown Manhattan. The production directed by Jose Zayas, starring Ana Grosse, Andy Phelan, and Steven Rishard, featured creative work by designers: Susan Zeeman Rogers (Set), Ryan O'Gara (Lighting), David Margolin Lawson (Sound), and Lisa Renee Jordan (Costumes). After a short series of well-received previews, Saviana Stanescu's Useless opens this weekend at IRT Theater in the West Village (154 Christopher St., #3B). The Romanian-born Stanescu, whose past projects include Aliens with Extraordinary Skills at Women's Project, Waxing West at La MaMa Theatre (2007 New York Innovative Theatre Award for Best Play), and Hurt (published in The Best American ShortPlays: 2012-2013), is considered one of the most exciting writers to emerge from Eastern Europe after the fall of the Iron Curtain.

A team of independent producers and a multicultural group of artists have joined forces with Kori Rushton and IRT's Residency Season to bring to life a new play: Useless by Romanian-born playwright Saviana Stanescu. The production is directed by Jose Zayas and features Ana Grosse, Andy Phelan and Steven Rishard.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater presents its fourth annual TheaterJam, a one-day festival featuring the work of many of the company's favorite playwrights, actors and directors. The brainchild of playwright Dael Orlandersmith, the all-day event will take place at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South between West 11th & Perry Streets) tonight, June 2nd.

BILLY WITCH will play a limited engagement at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church (30-44 Crescent St, Astoria, NY. Entrance on 30th Road.) Performances begin tonight, November 1 and continue through Saturday, November 17. Opening Night is Saturday, November 3 (8 p.m.).

Classic Stage Company's upcoming production of Bertolt Brecht's GALILEO (translated by Charles Laughton) starring Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham closes on Sunday, March 18.

Downtown fixture Cole Escola joins the cast of Michael Cyril Creighton's critically acclaimed web sitcom, JACK IN A BOX, which was a nominee for the 2012 Writers Guild of America Award for Outstanding Achievement in Writing Original New Media and was the winner of Best Web Series at the 2010 New York Television Festival. The series is in its fourth and final season.

Shortly into Bertolt Brecht's Galileo, the 17th Century Italian scientist shows his young companion a model of the Ptolemaic system of the universe, a gyroscope-looking creation depicting the sun and planets and other celestial bodies revolving on golden bands of orbits around the earth.  And if you choose that moment to take a look around you at Classic Stage Company's inviting new production, you'll notice how cleverly the environment created by set designer Adrianne Lobel replicates the look of the model, with large celestial globes suspended above the Earthlike playing area and hints of their golden orbits.
