Actors' Theatre of Columbus presents its 2019 season, 'Tainted Love.' This season's theme is about all of the mishaps and miseries of love: familial, romantic, human. As Lysander predicted in William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, 'The course of true love never did run smooth.'

Appalachia and the Bard collide in a night of live music and theatre. Sometimes dark tragedy, sometimes uproarious comedy, 'The Winter's Tale' sets the story of one of Shakespeare's more disparate and modern works, at the turn of the 19th & 20th century, between the coal mining country of Eastern Kentucky and the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. Inspired in part by the album 'Jean Ritchie & Doc Watson at Folk City' and heavily flavored with traditional mountain and American folk music performed by the cast, the play will celebrate the culture and the music of Appalachia, a region with strong cultural, musical and linguistic ties to Shakespeare's England, with a tragedy and joy that is uniquely and entertainingly American.

The Globe School at Actors' Theatre kicks off the spring with early class and workshop opportunities and returns this summer with acting camps for actors of all ages and levels.

Humid summer nights spent grilling and mowing lawns in a subdivision might initially seem like an odd concept for a musical, but a new production performed by Columbus' own Shots in the Dark Theatre Company took inspiration from these often-mundane surroundings to create a new musical that explores the satirical and sometimes sinister aspects of the great American Dream.

A new musical is coming to town--one that explores the themes of love, passion and the suburban American Dream, wittily played out under the golden glow of neighborhood streetlights.

Shots in the Dark Independent Theatre Company presents BEAUTIFUL CUL DE SAC.  Performances are tonight, June 19, 20, 26, and 27 at 8:00pm, and June 28 at 2:00pm at UAHS Little Theater, 1650 Ridgeview Rd., Upper Arlington, OH. 43221.  

Set in 1999 or so in Stony Bridge Lakes, a suburb of Columbus, Ohio, BEAUTIFUL CUL DE SAC follows two families as they interact, intermingle, and intercourse their way through suburban life. This is a hilarious new musical that tackles themes of family, love, sex, and art.
