Motown's closing must be getting it a lot of business.

I'm shocked that with that huge number for It's Only a Play that it's listed at TKTS today for 30% off. Usually that never happens.

With Cinderella's "challenging" grosses, it seems that the new Ella and Madame are under some bit of pressure to help bring in more people. I mean, grosses in the high 30's are dire.

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

I would have imagined Les Mis to be doing a lot better, given the fact that it's incredibly well known. Even non-theatre folk know it, I would think that it could bring in so much more.

ONCE's weekly nut must be around $400K for the producers to want to keep it open for the Fall.
