I have two opening night playbills for On a Clear Day You Can See Forever. My questions is they have different covers, any idea why? One has Harry standing up with flowers in the background and the other has Harry in a thinking pose with flowers in the shape of a heart. I have many opening night playbills and this is the only time I have two that are different. Has this happened before?

It could just be that the art was changed at the last minute for "On a Clear Day," and two Playbill deliveries during opening week resulted in two different covers. For what it may be worth, on Playbill vault it looks like the heart cover was used in previews, and the one with him standing with flowers is identified as the official opening night cover. (I have two opening night Playbills from "Bring It On;" one is in color, and the other is black and white. Kind of a similar situation!)

Just to be clear, shows generally do not have "official" opening night Playbills. All Playbills shipped during the week a show officially opens will have the opening night date on the title page, and that is for the entire week's performance. Many theaters don't purge the Playbills from the week before, and continue handing out whatever is left (unless there is a cast change, then they purge them). So you likely have both a Plybill from the opening noght week's shipment, and a leftover Playbill from the previous week.

^ True that most shows don't have an "official" opening night Playbill (though some put stickers on them, like "Nice Work..." but there is an opening night "edition" with the date inside, which is obviously available only for a limited time at the theatre.
