Just returned from the box office at Rocky. They have switched to a RUSH system. The seats are no longer Golden Circle.

Scroll to the bottom of the link page for info on the Rush Seating.

In case it's hard to navigate:

A limited number of day-of-show rush tickets, including eight side front-row tickets, will be available for purchase at the box office on a first-come, first-served basis. Rush tickets are $35 (Tuesday through Friday) and $45 (Saturday and Sunday). Rush tickets will be become available at 10AM Tuesday through Saturday, and Noon on Sunday for performances on the same day. Rush tickets are subject to availability and limited to two per person.

Is anyone rushing to see this show?

LOL, they had rush tickets available at 12 when I went up for lottery (not knowing they had switched). I am guessing the switch over is new this week. When I went by the theater last week there were quite a few people there for the lottery.

It is; I helped a friend lotto this past weekend and they announced before drawing that that weekend was the last for lotto.

Were the lotto seats still Golden Circle? The rush seats are not. I saw the third preview and wanted to see it again from the Golden Circle with no stops in the show. Guess that is not happening unless I shell out the money for GC tickets. LOL

Thank you for posting this, brdway411! I was planning to try the lotto on Friday.

Because it's a holiday (Good Friday), based on any previous experiences, do you think it will be harder to obtain rush tickets? I wonder if I should wait for another day.

I went up at 12 pm and they still had matinee tickets available. This is the first week, so I have no clue what to expect. BTW I didn't take the ticket once I asked about Golden Circle seating and was told it was not GC.

Interesting. I'll give it a shot and report back!

I actually am glad that it's not the Golden Circle seating. Hopefully the seats they do offer aren't too obstructed!

I should have asked.

Blackbird, they were offering decent lotto loser tickets to those that didn't win. Can you see if they are still planning to do that for people who line up for rush but don't get rush tickets? Thanks.

Aw man, I loved that they were offering good seats for their lottery opposed to partial view, one of the few shows that did that. I understand the reason to sell golden circle at full price though. Not surprised by that decision.

When I saw the show, I got lotto loser seats and was placed front row, left orchestra on the center aisle. So, to me, it sounds like the lotto loser seats are possibly the new rush seats. I wouldn't purchase them if they offer you past seats 5 and 6 because the people sitting the last 2 seats in my row on the far aisle were pretty much staring at a thick metal pole and huge speaker the entire time. Totally obstructed.

FishermanBob, absolutely will do. Hopefully I'll have a positive report on Friday!

Hairspray0901, thanks for that info. I will try to avoid those if possible!

Stupid that they changed their policy to $45 on weekends since people didn't want to pay $35 when they had the lotto since it was always empty...

a few Sundays ago, I purchased two side front row seats for $55. Looks like those will be the new rush seats. They were great seats.

Just got back from seeing the show - got rush tix this AM (Friday April 1Rocky Rush. We were the unfortunate ones on the side of the theatre. They call them 'partial view' but in fact they are really 100% obstructed view. My friend and I (and the 2 guys sitting next to us, and the other rush tix holders behind us) could not see ANYTHING. We missed the first Rocky/Adrian kiss, we missed the big training scene.. I heard dialogue about an Xmas tree, but saw no such thing. We spent the show watching what was essentially the conductor and pit orchestra in concert. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! Please consider yourselves warned - and warn others! I have contacted the producers in every way I can to try to get them to stop selling these tickets, as it's really just not fair.

what seats were you in, Theatrefangirl?

Our seats were Mezz, Row A, Seats 40 and 42. Also, the boxes have 100% obstructed view - as did the guys sitting next to us (I guess that was seats 38 and 36). The rush tix holders on the other side of the theatre complained of the same. In other words, I wouldn't trust any rush tix for this production.

I will also add that after filing a complaint, the theater has offered a make good. But still, be aware of

I'm wondering about this too. The only time I would be able to rush would be on the weekends, when the rush tickets are more expensive. I would really love to see this, but do not want a partial view seat that only allows me to see less than 50%. Has anyone done rush lately? And how were the seats? Any input would be much appreciated!

Bump! Anyone try this recently? Debating if I should rush this on Saturday/Sunday.

I rushed last Saturday, and was 3rd in line at 8:45. I ended up snagging 2 Golden Circle seats, 4th row dead center for the matinee.

Thanks KirbyCat! Probably will try tomorrow, was really debating between this and Bullets Over Broadway... Hopefully will get decent seats here, especially considering $45 is kind of steep for your regular rush/lotto tickets.

Yep, will definitely report back! Hope it won't be too crazy tomorrow with the Tony Awards this Sunday and all (not sure if it's a busy weekend for broadway).
