If only JAY records would finally get the funds to release their complete recording after, what 15 years now? (They just finally released the complete One Touch of Venus, so...) Some of the backdrops remind me of Top Cat (Boss Cat?).

What a wonderful post celebrating a glorious, under-appreciated musical. It may have its flaws, and there are a lot of them, but I love it from start to finish!

Listening to the cast album for the first time, back when all I knew of Sondheim was "Sweeney", "Merrily" and "Company", I had a classic WTF moment hearing "Simple" for the first time. I remember looking over at my stereo in disbelief.
Does anybody know what sort of reviews the two act reduction of the show got?
