The seventh annual Living for Today: 'Shing-a-Ling: A Night with the Broadway Urchins' was held earlier this week at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette St). After bringing down the house at the sixth annual concert in January 2014 with a surprise appearance, the three 'urchins' from the Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors (Carla J. Hargrove, Trisha Jeffrey, DeQuina Moore) took to the stage in a concert of their very own, featuring hits from the radio, the stage, and of course from the musical that brought them together. The concert benefits Gilana's Fund, which celebrates and encourages educational programming promoting acceptance and understanding of our communities, each other, and ourselves. Life has been an endless series of adventures for Neil Patrick Harris. Earlier today, Ellen Hart of Ellen's Stardust Diner (1650 Broadway) hosted a reunion of real former Miss Subways- a position which Ellen herself once held. During that luncheon, ON THE TOWN's Megan Fairchild, who plays Ivy Smith or 'Miss Turnstiles' in the musical, was crowned as a new honorary Miss Subways. Written by Billy Mitchell, 'Villain: DeBlanks' is a late-night fundraiser where the cast needs the audience as much as the audience loves the cast. Just last night, 'Submissions Only' co-creators Kate Wetherhead and Andrew Keenan-Bolger celebrated the songs of their hit web series at 54 Below. Under the music direction of Michael Croiter, the Submissions Only House Band, along with a number of exciting guest stars, performed a selection of music from all three seasons of the show, including original songs like 'Two Cents,' 'Wrong Spot' and 'Nobody Does Mean Like Me.'
