Signature Theatre just announced a second one-week extension for INCIDENT AT VICHY, by Arthur Miller and directed by Michael Wilson, due to its sold-out run. INCIDENT AT VICHY will now play through Sunday, December 20, 2015 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). The first North American Tour of the Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical BEAUTIFUL - THE CAROLE KING will open at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, RI, later this month on September 15-20, 2015. Led by Abby Mueller (sister of Tony winner Jessie Mueller) as 'Carole King, ' it also stars NEWSIES' Ben Fankhauser as 'Barry Mann', LEGALLY BLONDE's Becky Gulsvig as 'Cynthia Weil,' Liam Tobin as 'Gerry Goffin,' Curt Bouril as 'Don Kirshner', and Suzanne Grodner as 'Genie Klein.'

Acclaimed Off-Broadway theater company Playwrights Horizons held its annual Spring Gala yesterday, May 4 at the event space 583 Park Avenue. Titled CELEBRATING PETER JAY SHARP'S NEW YORK, the evening honored the late philanthropist, hotelier and real estate developer Peter Jay Sharp and The Peter Jay Sharp Foundation (Foundation Directors: the late Mr. Sharp, Edmund Duffy, Dan Lufkin, the late Jack Nash and Norman Peck). Among several theaters in New York City, Playwrights Horizons' more intimate 128-seat theater was named after the late philanthropist. The Broadway transfer of The Royal Shakespeare Company's Wolf Hall: Parts 1 & 2 began previews on March 20, 2015 at the Winter Garden Theatre, and opened last night, April 9, 2015. Wolf Hall: Parts 1 & 2, which explores the deceit, betrayal, and intrigue of the court of Henry VIII, is written by Dame Hilary Manteland adapted by Mike Poulton.
