Last winter, when the world was sheathed in a shroud of ice, our hearts were warmed by the story of FROZEN. Now, as the mercury starts to drop, the classic tale of innocence, loyalty, and redemption will be brought back to life with Serenbe Playhouse's The Snow Queen. The world-premiere of Rachel Teagle's adaptation will give audiences the opportunity to embark with Gerda on her heralded quest to save her brother from the icy allure of the mysterious Snow Queen. The story, which showcases the true strength love can have over cynicism, is a sure-fire way to warm our hearts all winter long. "When we decided to produce our first holiday show we knew it needed to be set in a cold environment," Director and Founder Brian Clowdus tells us. "The Snow Queen has such a strong message of redemption and loyalty - what we do for those we love, how to not judge a book by its cover - it was the perfect story for us to tell."

"It's a story about looking at the world around you and choosing to see beauty, and choosing to let yourself be vulnerable and warm and loving," Playwright Rachel Teagle tells us. Following in the success of last season's Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the classic tale will reunite Teagle with her Suzi Nominated cast - the perfect winter storm of talent to bring fresh air to the story of Gerda and Kai, as performed by Allie Southwood and Will Skelton. Lauren Chamblin, Robert LeeHindsman, and Alex Towers hilariously and imaginatively bring to life several different roles (including but not limited to a robber girl, a talking reindeer, and a handful of mischievous trolls.) And taking the stage as the chilling Queen herself? None other than the talented Brittany Ellis. "Serenbe's never done a full production in the winter before, and I think that the stark, ethereal beauty of the season will really come through here." Teagle tells us.

Their talent combines with the celebrated creative tactics of Director Brian Clowdus and choreography from his long time collaborator Bubba Carr. The design team behind the play will bring a fresh dose of raw talent to the stage - with contributions from award-winning costume designer Erik Teague's signature elegant and sophisticated stylings, accompanied by original sound design from Jason Polhemus and lighting design from Bryan Rosengrant. The piece will be Assistant Directed by Ryan Oliveti.

The magic of the Snow Queen will also extend into four extra performances due to the high demand of ticket sales. The Snow queen will now cast her spell Wednesdays throughout the run with two Christmas week performances on December 22nd and 23rd.

Show dates and times for The Snow Queen are Thursdays - Sundays, December 4th through December 21st at 8pm. Additional performances on December 10th, 17th, 22nd, and 23rd. Tickets are $15 for Children and $20 for Adults. The Snow Queen will be performed at Swann Ridge in Serenbe.
