Bernadette Peters, Patti LuPone, Liza Minnelli, Celine Dion, Kristin Chenoweth, Drew Barrymore, Adele and Barbra Streisand were all on the Broadway at Birdland stage on Monday night. There might not normally be room for a cast that large, but in this particular instance, they were present in the vocal pyrotechnical know-how of Forbidden Broadway andNewsical alum Christina Bianco! Her show, More Diva Moments, included songs like "Somewhere Over The Rainbow," What Did I Have That I Don't Have," and "Last Dance," as well as a hilarious dramatic reading of well-known voices reciting passages from Ms. Streisand's recent book about design.
Christina is currently starring Off-Broadway in Newsical The Musical and received a Drama Desk award nomination for her work in Forbidden Broadway; Goes To Rehab. Christina originated the role of Dora in the long-running national tour ofDora The Explorer Live, including a sold-out run at Radio City Music Hall. A MAC Award nominated cabaret artist,Christina performed weekly in an unprecedented eight month run of 11 O'Clock Numbers at Feinstein's at Loews Regency. She has performed her acclaimed solo show, Diva Moments, regionally in Chicago & Baltimore, and on various cruise lines. She frequently performs in concert as a soloist with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Christina has performed with Deborah Cox, Sandi Patty, guest starred on The Jerry Lewis Telethon and performed on NBC's "The Today Show."
The Broadway at Birdland concert series takes place every Monday at 7pm at the historic music room (315 West 44 Street, NYC).
