As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, Broadway darling Sutton Foster and Seth Rudetsky are teaming up on a concert version of They're Playing Our Song to benefit The Actor's Fund on August 30 at the Gerald W. Lynch Theatre at John Jay College in New York City. They are joined onstage by Tyler Maynard, Matt Loehr, Jesse Nager, Amber Efe, Alex Ellis and Kaitlyn Davidson. The concert will be directed and choreographed by Denis Jones and musical directed by Steve Freeman. The first shots of the company in rehearsal have been released and appear below!

They're Playing Our Song has a book by Neil Simon, lyrics by Carole Bayer Sager, and music by Marvin Hamlisch.

In a story based on the real-life relationship of Hamlisch and Sager, a wisecracking composer finds a new, offbeat lyricist, but initially the match is not one made in heaven. The two undergo a series of trials and overcome a number of hurdles before finding true love by the final curtain.

They're Playing Our Song is essentially a two-character show. Vernon and Sonia are the sole characters on stage; each character has a three-person Greek chorus acting as their inner voices. Foster will be playing Sonia. Rudetsky will be playing Vernon.

The musical opened at Broadway's Imperial Theatre in 1979; it received four Tony nominations, including one for Best Musical. Song titles include "I Still Believe in Love," "Just for Tonight," "If He really Knew Me," "Working it Out," "Falling" and the title tune.
