Two-time Tony Award nominee Brandon Victor Dixon just made his debut as Aaron Burr in the musical Hamilton on Broadway last night, August 23. BroadwayWorld was on hand for his big night and you can check out backstage photos below!

Brandon Victor Dixon was nominated last season for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for SHUFFLE ALONG, and was previously nominated for Best Featured Actor for the original production of THE COLOR PURPLE. With book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, Hamiltonis based on Ron Chernow's biography of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. The musical recently celebrated its 1st anniversary on Broadway on August 6.

HAMILTON is the story of America's Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation's first Treasury Secretary. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and Broadway, Hamilton is the story of America then, as told by America now.

A Chicago production of Hamilton will open in October 2016. A touring production begins a 21-week run in San Francisco in March 2017 followed by a 21-week engagement in Los Angeles. A London production will be mounted, also in 2017.
