Photo Flash: Los Angeles Lawyers Philharmonic Honor Richard Sherman at Disney Hall

Founder-Conductor Gary S. Greene, Esq., led the Los Angeles Lawyers Philharmonic and its chorus, Legal Voices, dubbed "LA's Only Legal Orchestra & Chorus," in their 7th Annual Concert Extraordinaire on Saturday evening, June 18 at Walt Disney Concert Hall. The Sherman Brothers' memorable Disney music and works by composers Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein highlighted the evening. KFI Radio host Bill Handel, Esq., MC'd. Lawyers and judges, who are more commonly heard in the courtroom, were on the stage of Disney Hall making music together in perfect harmony while raising funds for those who cannot afford legal services.
The program featured music by American composers (Bernstein, Copland and Ferde Grofé), with works from Candide, Appalachian Spring, Rodeo and the Grand Canyon Suite. Sherman Brothers' favorites included Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, along with enchanting music from Tom Sawyer, The Jungle Book and the Disneyland theme parks. Plus the famed songwriting brothers' well-known Rock n' Roll classics including "Tall Paul," "You're Sixteen," "Pineapple Princess," "Monkey's Uncle" and "Let's Get Together," were performed with The Honorable Arthur Gilbert (presiding justice of the California Court of Appeal, 2nd District) on keyboard. The grand finale was the iconic "It's A Small World" conducted by Richard M. Sherman. Tony Award-winning star and attorney Michael Maguire, Esq. was featured soloist in "Goin' Home" from Dvo_ák's New World Symphony with the LA Lawyers Phil. Anthony Crivello, a Tony Award-winning Broadway actor who stars as Louis Prima in Louis & Keely Live at the Sahara sang "I Wanna Be Like You" from The Jungle Book.
