Last night, two-time Tony nominee André De Shields stopped by the Longacre Theatre, his old stomping grounds, to see the Broadway production of Allegiance. De Shields, who is headed to Broadway in the Fall in Gotta Dance, appeared on the Longacre Theatre stage in Ain't Misbehavin' in 1978, and Prymate in 2004. After the show, De Shields visited with the cast onstage. Below, BroadwayWorld has photos of the star with Lea Salonga, George Takei, and more!

The new Broadway musical Allegiance stars Tony® and Olivier® Award winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) in her long-awaited return to Broadway joined by "Star Trek" icon George Takei in his Broadway debut at age 78, and Broadway and "Glee" star TellyLeung. Allegiance is the vibrant and unforgettable story of one family's resilience in the face of seemingly-insurmountable odds, inspired by Takei's real-life experience as a Japanese American during World War II. Performances began at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street) on October 6, 2015 and officially opened on November 8, 2015. For more information, visit www.AllegianceMusical.com.
