Photo Flash: First Look at Highland Park Players' AVENUE Q, Closing This Sunday

Highland Park Players present the laugh out loud Tony Award winning musical, AVENUE Q, which is part flesh, part felt and packed with heart. AVENUE Q will be performed at the Northbrook Theatre, 3323 Walters Avenue, now through October 25th. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Director Catherine Davis says, "Whether you watched Sesame Street as a child or are a parent of the Sesame Street generation, AVENUE Q will hit home in a big way. This coming-of-age musical pokes fun at the issues and anxieties associated with entering adulthood, making it clear in a hilarious way that the children who were assured that they were "special" and "could do anything", as adults have discovered--to their surprise and dismay--that in the real world their options are limited, and they are no more "special" than anyone else.

Who is AVENUE Q appropriate for? Adults love AVENUE Q, but they seem a little, how do we say it, fuzzy on whether it's appropriate for kids. We'll try to clear that up. AVENUE Q is great for teenagers because it's about real life. It may not be appropriate for young children because AVENUE Q addresses issues like sex, drinking, and surfing the web for porn. It's hard to say what exact age is right to see AVENUE Q- parents should use their discretion based on the maturity level of their children, but we promise you this, if you DO bring your teenagers to AVENUE Q they'll think you're really cool!
