BAFTA nominated writer and director Paul Andrew Williams makes his theatre debut with original play Ticking scheduled to open at London's Trafalgar Studios on the 6th October for a five week run.

Williams' playwright debut has already confirmed a fantastic cast, with Tom Hughes (The Game; About Time; Cemetery Junction; Page Eight), Niamh Cusack (Testament of Youth; Heartbeat; Five Minutes Of Heaven), Anthony Head (You, Me & Them, Buffy The Vampire Slayer; Merlin) and David Michaels (Heartbeat).

The play follows Simon (Tom Hughes), a young British man who is awaiting execution in a prison cell after being convicted of the murder of a local prostitute. It's his final visiting hour and his parents (Anthony Head and Niamh Cusack) are due to arrive. He's a bag of nervous energy and his lawyer (David Michaels) still hasn't got any news on his appeal.

As Simon and his parents wait breathlessly to see if his appeal will be successful, Simon must decide whether to confront the past with his father and expose a deeply hidden secret, or leave it buried and say his goodbyes.

Tense, punchy and unflinching, the audience is thrust into the world of the Baron family as they struggle with the knowledge that death by firing squad may be just around the corner.

Williams, who is known for his work on London To Brighton, Song For Marion and Murdered By My Boyfriend, will work with producer Melissa Wilkins on this gripping and powerful story.

Previews begin at Trafalgar Studio 2 on 6th October with the press night following on 12th October.
