It's been 30 years since Claude-Michel Schönberg & Alain Boublil's phenomenon of a musical opened in London. Les Miserables originally opened in London at the Barbican Theatre on October 8, 1985. It transferred to the Palace Theatre on 4 December 1985 where it ran for 19 years before moving to its current home at the Queen's Theatre on 3 April 2004 where it has already played for 11 years and looks set to at least equal the run at the Palace Theatre as it is still playing to standing room only. Colm Wilkinson and Patti LuPone and many others joined the cast on stage in celebration. Check out the photos here.

A new musical by Michael John LaChiusa and directed by Kirsten Sanderson, First Daughter Suite is running at The Public Theater through Sunday, November 15, with an official press opening on Wednesday, October 21. LaChiusa imagines the inner lives and dreams of America's best-known daughters with a funny and moving follow-up to his 1993 Public musical First Lady Suite. A historical fantasia in four parts, First Daughter Suite follows Patricia Nixon and daughters Tricia and Julie, Rosalynn and Amy Carter, Betty and Susan Ford, Patti Davis and mom Nancy Reagan, and Barbara Bush and daughter-in-law Laura as they strive to live meaningful lives in the public eye, while dealing with the complex private relationships all of us face with our parents and children. Check out the first photos from the revival of DAMES AT SEA. DAMES AT SEA is a tap-happy gem of a show that celebrates the golden era of movie musicals with dazzling dances, spectacular songs and delightful dames! Ruby steps off a bus in Manhattan, and into her first Broadway show, but hours before the opening night curtain is to rise, the cast learns their theater is being demolished, so it is "all hands on deck" to find a stage to put on the show. Featuring rollicking tap dancing, love at first sight, joyful music and a boatload of laughs, Dames at Sea has everything you need to sweep your glooms away. PRINCE OF BROADWAY, a new musical celebrating the extraordinary six-decade Broadway career of producer-director Harold Prince, plays from October 23-November 22, 2015 at Tokyu Theatre Orb in Tokyo, Japan and November 28-December 10, 2015 at Umeda Arts Theatre, Main Hall, in Osaka, Japan. Manhattan Theatre Club's Broadway premiere of Fool for Love by Pulitzer Prize winner Sam Shepard, directed by Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin, stars Nina Arianda, Sam Rockwell, Tom Pelphrey and Gordon Joseph Weiss. The limited engagement of Fool for Love opened Thursday, October 8 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). Check out more photos from the opening night celebration here.

Roundabout Theatre Company's OLD TIMES opened at the American Airlines Theatre this week. Clive Owen, Eve Best and Kelly Reilly star in Old Times, the unsettling drama of desire and blurred realities by Nobel Laureate Harold Pinter. Owen is Deeley, a man quite looking forward to meeting Anna (Best), his wife Kate's (Reilly) friend from long ago. But as the night goes on, Anna's visit quickly shifts from an ordinary sharing of memories to a quiet battle for power. Douglas Hodge, a frequent performer and director of Pinter's works, directs the haunting and passionate revival. Check out more photos here.

The Tectonic Theater Project just presented its star-studded one-night-only special benefit reading of Moisés Kaufman's GROSS INDECENCY: THE THREE TRIALS OF OSCAR WILDE, the award-winning play about Oscar Wilde and the trials for his "crime" of homosexuality. All funds raised benefit Tectonic Theater Project and the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission. Check out photos from the star studded event here.

KANSAS CITY CHOIR BOY, with music and lyrics by Todd Almond, featuring Almond and rock icon Courtney Love, begins performances with three previews Thursday, October 15, 2015, through Saturday, October 17 at 8 p.m., and opens Sunday, October 18 at 6:30 p.m. The show, which is a special DouglasPlus event, will run through November 8. Two-time Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro's critically acclaimed new comedy Clever Little Lies, starring Emmy, Grammy, and Golden Globe Award-winner Marlo Thomas, George Merrick, Greg Mullavey, and Kate Wetherhead, with direction by David Saint, opens on Monday, October 12th at the Westside Theatre(Upstairs) (407 West 43rd Street). Atlantic Theater Company presents the first production of its 30th anniversary season, the New York revival of multiple Obie Award winner Caryl Churchill's landmark play Cloud Nine, directed by Obie Award winner James Macdonald. Cloud Nine began previews September 16, officially opened last night October 5, and will play a limited engagement through Sunday, November 1, 2015 Off Broadway at Atlantic Theater Company's Linda Gross Theater (336 West 20 Street).
