This summer, Shakespeare Santa Monica returns for its 10th year anniversary season with eight performances of TWELFTH NIGHT and THE TAMING OF THE SHREW with six performances. Admission is always a suggested donation of $20 or pay what you can. Kids and teens 16 years old or younger are always free.

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company led by Producing Artistic Directors Geoff Elliott and Julia Rodriguez-Elliott, begins its 22nd season and the third season in its new Pasadena home with William Shakespeare's Pericles, Prince of Tyre, opening Saturday, September 14 and closing Sunday, November 24, 2013, with previews starting September 7. Pericles is performed in repertory withThe Guardsman by Ferenc Molnar, October 5 through November 30, and Endgame by Samuel Beckett, October 26 to November 23.

National Theatre Live's OTHELLO, MACBETH and More Set for Ridgefield Playhouse, Oct 2013

Three award-winning plays will be broadcast Live in HD from Britain's National Theatre to The Ridgefield Playhouse in October. First up is Othello on Tuesday, October 15, followed by Macbeth on Monday, the 21st, and Frankenstein on, very fittingly, Thursday, October 31, all at 6:30 p.m.

Applications For Shakespeare Works Artist Residencies at The Public Now Available

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) and the Shakespeare Society (Artistic Director, Michael Sexton; Executive Director, Betsy Davidson Pickering) are now accepting applications for the 2013-2014Shakespeare Works Artist Residencies, part of the Shakespeare Society's Shakespeare Works program. The residencies will culminate in panel discussions about Shakespeare's plays, hosted by The Public Theater. The first two panel discussions will take place on Monday, September 30 and Monday, December 2 at 425 Lafayette Street.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), recipient of the 2012 Regional Theatre Tony Award, presents a world in moral free fall with director Jonathan Munby's evocative vision of William Shakespeare's play, Measure for Measure. Munby's production, which places Shakespeare's story in a Fascist, late 1930s Europe steeped in cabaret culture, presents the dual nature of humanity as both tragic and comic. Measure for Measure will play at the Lansburgh Theatre (450 7th Street NW) from September 12-October 27, 2013.

Porto joins STC from Entertainment Marketing in New York City, where he served as the President of a performing arts consulting company specializing in professional theatre and dance.
