Friday, June 26, after a Covid-induced period of Zoom-only dance recitals, Cleveland's 'classical ballet with a dash of American modern dance' company, joined the world of the living with a performance of three pleasing pieces, at the Breen Center.

Continuing their signature new plays based on pivotal historical moments in our region, Borderlands Theater presents a timely new drama exploring the origins of the sanctuary movement. Written by Milta Ortiz, who penned 2015's award winning Mas, about the banning of ethnic studies classes in T.U.S.D., Sanctuary is based on the people and events leading up to the 1980's Sanctuary movement that ignited in Tucson when concerned citizens took a radical moral stand in support of people fleeing unimaginable violence.

AN AMERICAN IN PARIS is coming to Omaha! This winner of multiple Tony Awards, based on the 1951 Academy Award winning film of the same name and adapted for stage by Christopher Wheeldon, will run February 13-18 at Omaha's Orpheum Theatre.

Stage, screen, and cabaret star Julie Wilson passed away yesterday, April 5, from complications from two recent stokes. She was 90 years old. Below, BroadwayWorld takes you back through the last two decades of her versatile career.

In recognition of its 100th Anniversary, New Haven's historic Shubert Theatre celebrated with a Gala Benefit on Saturday, March 21. This exclusive evening included an elegant sit-down dinner on the legendary Shubert Stage, dancing, theatrical entertainment and a tribute to honored guest stars. Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. Not all news was good though, as we also suffered a loss of an incredible amount of talent. Below, BroadwayWorld sends a fond farewell to those who passed away in 2014.

The San Pedro Theatre Club presents CABARET, a musical based on a book written by Christopher Isherwood, with music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. The production is directed by Drew Fitzsimmons and Victoria Miller, who also choreographed, with music directed by Leslie Sharp. The intimate 78-seat theater allows the actors to interact with the audience on several occasions, making it really feel as if we are inside the small German cabaret rather than watching a show about it.

The Professional Dancers Society's (PDS) Gypsy Awards Luncheon honoring Leslie Caron and Dee Dee Wood and the late Marc Breaux was held on March 30, 2014 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Broadway's Dick Van Dyke and Chita Rivera were in attendance, and you can check out a photo of them together below!

Today in the historic Great Hall on Ellis Island three esteemed individuals were honored by The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Inc. for the contributions they have made to this 'Nation of Immigrants.'

Strangers on a Train, adapted by Craig Warner from the novel by Patricia Highsmith andpopularized by Alfred Hitchock's film, will open at Stoneham Theatre on Thursday, May 7. The psychological thriller begins with an innocent conversation between two strangers and ends in murder and madness.

Tovah Feldshuh, playwright Dan Gordon and the cast of 'Irena's Vow' were joined by Broadway luminaries including Lynn Redgrave, and a group of African-American Rabbis headed up by Rabbi Benyamin Ben Levy fr0m Temple Beth Belohim in St. Albans Queen. They all took part in a candlelight ceremony in commemoration of Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) immediately prior to the evening performance of 'Irena's Vow.'
