Written by Claude-Michel Schonberg, based on the novel by Victor Hugo, Les Miserables is set in early 19th-century France. The plot follows the stories of many characters as they struggle for redemption and revolution.

Jenna Bush Hager recently got to experience her first time on a Broadway stage when she joined the cast of Chicago earlier this week. While discussing the experience on The Today Show, she revealed that she had actually wanted to be a Broadway star when she was young, even auditioning for the role of Little Cosette in Les Miserables multiple times as a child. She joked about being her repeated rejection, describing herself as a 'well-fed, tan Texan,' and stating that she could neither sing nor dance as a child.

Cameron Mackintosh's production of Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's legendary musical LES MISERABLES will end its acclaimed two-and-a-half-year return to Broadway today, September 4, 2016 at the Imperial Theater (239 West 45th Street) after 1,024 performances. Hugh Panaro is ending his run as the Phantom in Broadway's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. Before playing the phantom, Panaro played the role of Raoul, which he played for 900 performances. As the the Phantom, Panaro played 2227 performances. His fellow cast members did the math and found that he has appeared in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA for over 3000 performances.

At long last, the phenomenon is coming home. Cameron Mackintosh's production of Alain Boublil & Claude-Michel Schonberg's Tony Award-winning musical masterpiece LES MISERABLES will return to the Imperial Theatre, the show's home on Broadway for nearly 13 years and 5244 performances. The original Broadway cast included Colm Wilkinson as Jean Valjean, David Bryant as Marius, Judy Kuhn as Cosette, Michael Maguire as Enjolras, Frances Ruffelle as Eponine, Braden Danner as Gavroche, Donna Vivino as Young Cosette, Jennifer Butt as Madame Thenardier, Leo Burmester as Thenardier, Randy Graff as Fantine, and Terrence Mann as Javert.

Happy Birthday Claude-Michel Schönberg! Schönberg is best known for his collaborations with the lyricist Alain Boublil. Thier stage musical version of Victor Hugo's Les Misérables, which opened at the Palais de Sports in Paris in 1980, opened to acclaim in London in 1985 and on Broadway in 1987. In 1989, their success continued with the musical Miss Saigon, which starred Lea Salonga and Jonathan Pryce. Schönberg's next project with Boublil was The Pirate Queen, a musical about the 16th century Irish pirate, chieftain and adventuress Grace O'Malley, which opened on Broadway on April 5 2007.

The 25th anniversary production of Les Misérables is making its United States premiere at Paper Mill Playhouse prior to a major US National Tour. The all new production of Les Misérables features glorious new staging and spectacular reimagined scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo. Cameron Mackintosh's current touring production of Les Miserables will run at London's Barbican Theatre, it's English-language birthplace in 1985, for 22 performances through October 2, 2010. A Queens Theatre staple for nearly 22 years in the West End, this new run will mark the first time in London that the same musical has run simultaneously.

Susan Boyle went back to her old faithful song final of 'Britain's Got Talent' and once again sang 'I Dreamed a Dream' during the show's finals.

Various UK news services have reported that Britain's Got Talent star Jamie Pugh has indeed played at a West End theatre before, undermining his claim of having no experience in front of large audiences.

Jamie Pugh sang 'Bring Him Home' from 'Les Miserables' on Episode 4 of Britain's Got Talent 2009. And once again, like Susan Boyle before him, his choice of a 'Les Miz' song proved both successful and an inspiration that mirrored his own humble aspirations and deep held dreams.
