Written in 1780, Hannah Cowley's rom-com romp is a witty parody that upends the conventional gender norms and marital expectations of eighteenth-century English society. The “belles” at the center of the play concoct two distinct stratagems, or ruses, to change the minds of the men in their lives and subvert the status quo.

RED BULL THEATER today announced that its 2020-21 offerings will continue later this month with a FREE benefit reading of Hannah Cowley’s The Belle’s Stratagem, directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch. The event will star Tony Award nominee Lilli Cooper and Tony Award winner Santino Fontana.  

The Royal Lyceum Theatre Company, with Citizens Theatre and DOT Theatre Istanbul, will present a brand new adaptation of Brecht's classic master and servant comedy Mrs Puntila and her Man Matti by award-winning writer Denise Mina and directed by DOT Theatre's Murat Daltaban, who returns to the Lyceum Theatre to direct, following the celebrated Zinnie Harris adaptation of Rhinoceros in 2018.

The Royal Shakespeare Company's Matilda The Musical has announced new casting with Hayden Tee playing Miss Trunchbull alongside Rob Compton and Holly Dale Spencer as Mr and Mrs Wormwood. Gina Beck will continue to play Miss Honey, having joined the company in September 2017. Isobel Hubble and Francesca McKeown will join Sarah Munday and Olivia Wells in sharing the title role of Matilda. The multi award-winning production is currently playing its seventh year in the West End and is booking until 20 October 2019.

Shared Experience today announced its first national tour since Polly Teale's final production of Mermaid in 2015. American Conservatory Theater's Master of Fine Arts Program, Class of 2017, will present I'm Through with Love-a musical revue featuring a lineup of performances that encompass what it is to be in (and out of) love. Set against the backdrop of an art museum in 1959, patrons contemplate their love lives, conjure romantic fantasies, end torrid affairs, and forge new relationships. Performances of I'm Through with Love will take place this week, December 9-12, 2015 at The Garret at A.C.T.'s Geary Theater (415 Geary St., San Francisco).
