American Composers Orchestra continues its commitment to the creation and development of new orchestral music with the 27thAnnual Underwood New Music Readings on June 21-22, 2018 at NYU's Loewe Theater (35 West 4th Street).

Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director), an award-winning company presenting Shakespeare alongside other classic and contemporary drama at Polonsky Shakespeare Center, Downtown Brooklyn, is pleased to announce its 2018-19 season-the 39th since its founding in 1979.

Artistic Director Josie Rourke said, "I'm delighted to announce two new productions at the Donmar, joining the previously announced THE PRIME OF MISS JEAN BRODIE, for my penultimate season, with all three directed by women.

The 2018-19 Signature Theatre Season will feature six works by five resident playwrights, including two productions by Signature's new Residency 1 playwright, Lynn Nottage, and a world premiere musical from Signature's first musical theatre writer-in-residence Dave Malloy, the company announced today.

American Composers Orchestra continues its commitment to the creation and development of new orchestral music with the announcement of sixteen emerging composers who will participate in its catalytic programs. Six emerging composers will participate in the 27th Annual Underwood New Music Readings on June 21-22, 2018 at a location to be announced. Ten emerging composers receive 2018 EarShot New Music Readings presented by Fort Wayne Philharmonic (February 7, 2018), Charlotte Symphony Orchestra (March 1, 2018), and Jacksonville Symphony (April 20, 2018). EarShot is a partnership between American Composers Orchestra, League of American Orchestras, American Composers Forum, and New Music USA.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) has announced its 2018-19 Season of seven plays, celebrating the company's 40th Anniversary Season bringing the best new plays and musicals from national artists to Lowell and the entire Merrimack Valley region.

Shaw Festival Board Chair Peter Jewett announced today thatSheila Brown, Vivien Dzau, Tim Johnson, Sharon Levite, Eugene Lundrigan and Corinne Rice have joined the Shaw Festival's Board of Trustees. Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) announces the first work of its 2018-19 40th Season as a brand new adaptation of Jack Kerouac's lost novel The Haunted Life. The novel was inspired by the author's childhood and upbringing in Lowell, Massachusetts, and then thought lost. The recently discovered manuscript was put together with letters and outlines by Associate Professor of English at UMass Lowell Todd F. Tietchen, and published by Da Capo Press.

ENSEMBLE THEATRE COMPANY is thrilled to announce the third show of its 2017-2018 Season, the 2014-2015 Outer Critics Circle & Drama Desk award nominee for Best Play, THE CITY OF CONVERSATION, written by Anthony Giardina and directed by Cameron Watson. Meredith Baxter and Sharon Lawrence star in this deeply moving and thought-provoking story about how the political divide tears apart an American family. Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director) has added a performance (February 8 at 9pm) to its critically lauded world premiere production of Adrienne Kennedy's He Brought Her Heart Back in a Box, directed by Evan Yionoulis. The run will conclude, as a scheduled, on February 11.

The influence of modern Greece on the lives and work of three influential artists is explored in a new exhibition at the British Museum this spring. Charmed lives in Greece: Ghika, Craxton, Leigh Fermor (8 March - 15 July 2018) examines the enduring friendship between Greek painter Niko Ghika, British painter John Craxton, and British writer Sir Patrick Leigh Fermor. All three made homes in Greece, which are an integral part of the exhibition. The show brings together their artworks, photographs, letters and personal possessions in the UK for the first time.

Set in Georgia and New York City in 1941, He Brought Her Heart Back in a Box is a heartbreaking, nail-biting memory tale of segregation, theatrical yearning, and doomed love.

Producers Ryan Murphy and David Stone have announced that Charlie Carver ('The Leftovers,' 'Teen Wolf') will complete the cast of the 50th Anniversary production of Mart Crowley's groundbreaking play, The Boys in the Band. Carver will play the role of Cowboy.

At its annual gala event, Celebrate Colburn, the Colburn School will honor renowned conductor Michael Tilson Thomas and acclaimed architect Frank Gehry with the Richard D. Jerome Robbins, world renowned for his work as a choreographer and director of ballet and theater, film and television, would have been 100 years old on October 11, 2018. In honor of his life and legacy, The Jerome Robbins Foundation, partnering with other institutions across the country and around the world, will celebrate his centennial year through Spring 2019.
