New Philharmonic, the professional orchestra in residence opens its 40th Anniversary Season at the McAninch Arts Center, with "Passionate Virtuosity - Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky," Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 25 at 3 p.m. at the McAninch Arts Center, 425 Fawell Blvd., on the campus of College of DuPage.  Free pre-concert MAC Chats will precede each concert beginning at 6 and 1:30 p.m. respectively.

MCC Theater - which this fall celebrates its 30th Anniversary Season as one of New York's leading Off-Broadway theater companies - has announced the 2016 PlayLabs reading series, which will feature new works in development by playwrights Jocelyn Bioh, MCC Youth Company alum Xavier Galva, Ted Malawer, and Eric Micha Holmes.

From June 9 - 19, 2016, Houston Ballet will conclude its 2015-16 season with the world premiere of artistic director Stanton Welch's Giselle. The world premiere of Giselle is made possible through the generosity of longtime Houston Ballet supporter and trustee Lynn Wyatt. This production will showcase the company's strength and depth of talent, while staying true to the original story of love, betrayal, and redemption, set in the Romantic era. The ballet is set to the famous score by Adolphe Adam and designed by renowned Italian designer Roberta Guidi di Bagno, who will create the scenery and costumes for the production.

Lawrence Edelson, Artistic and General Director of Opera Saratoga, announced the program for the 2016 Summer Festival, which will run from May 28 through July 17, 2016. The season will feature three new productions at The Spa Little Theater in Spa State Park in Saratoga Springs, New York, along with a diverse slate of recitals and concerts at multiple locations in Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls, and Albany.

This will be a joint performance of the Allen Civic Ballet and the Allen Philharmonic featuring Ms. Hagerman and Mr. Pereia in Act II of Cinderella. MCC Theater announced today that it will break ground on its first permanent home on March 22, 2016. Set to open in 2018, the space will unite MCC's diverse roster of programs under one roof for the first time in the company's three-decade history. The touring production of Roundabout Theatre Company's CABARET dazzles just as much as it did on Broadway--where it was a critical and commercial success both from 1998-2004 and more recently, when it was remounted from March 2014-March 2015. Now Chicago audiences have the opportunity to witness original director Sam Mendes and co-director/choreographer Rob Marshall's stunning, beautifully constructed musical revival--undoubtedly one of the best I've ever seen. Robert Brill's Broadway set design is replicated almost exactly here, setting the stage with a powerful mix of glitz and decrepitness. The split-level stage showcases a large, lopsided frame with bright shining bulbs--though some are conspicuousness missing. Like John Kander and Fred Ebb's musical itself (with book by Joe Masteroff), this tour staging captures the vivacious and entertaining atmosphere of 1930s Berlin while also allowing us to clearly see the cracks beneath the surface. William Ivey Long's masterful costumes also strike this balance. And, of course, so do the performances. When the Kit Kat Klub ladies (portrayed here by Alison Ewing, Margaret Dudasik, Hillary Ekwall, Aisling Halpin, and Dani Spieler) walk onstage during CABARET's famous opening number 'Willkommen,' they execute their choreography with precision--but the looks of disdain and apathy on their faces indicate they'd rather be elsewhere. And yet, these captivating performances keep audiences engaged.

In celebration of her life's work, Trisha Brown Dance Company returns to the choreographer's home state to perform the final performances of her works for the proscenium stage as part of a retrospective presented by University of Washington's World Series at Meany Hall.
