Third Street Music School Settlement presents 20-21 Vision- their annual new music festival that traces the heritage of contemporary composers through links to the great 20th century masters. This year the focus is on Paul Hindemith, who, like Third Street, is celebrating his 125th anniversary. Composer and Hindemith student Yehudi Wyner will be on hand to discuss Hindemith's legacy, his influence on his own work and on others. Mr. Wyner will be among the performers is a concert of his music spanning seven decades.

Boston Baroque Presents Monteverdi's L'incoronazione Di Poppea Featuring Soprano Amanda Forsythe

Boston Baroque presents Monteverdi's final opera, L'incoronazione di Poppea, on Friday, April 26th at 7:30pm and on Sunday, April 28th at 3pm at New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall. These will be the first performances of a new performing edition of the opera by Boston Baroque founder and Music Director Martin Pearlman. The all-star cast includes soprano Amanda Forsythe in the title role and countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo making his Boston Baroque debut as Nero.

Mirror Visions Ensemble Announces 2017-18 Season

Mirror Visions Ensemble (MVE) announces its 2017-2018 season, which brings the group to Hudson, Quebec; Jamaica Plain and Salem, Massachusetts; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Fullerton, California; Morristown, New Jersey; and New York City. Now in its 26th season, MVE was founded from a desire to explore the relationship between music and text, initially through the creation of 'mirror visions' - settings of the same text to music by different composers.

Cantata Singers concludes its season with a program exploring Jewish history, culture, and music on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 8pm in Jordan Hall. Hoff-Barthelson Music School's Annual Benefit Recital and Reception, the School's largest fundraising event of the year, takes place on Sunday, April 23, 2017, and features a recital by Carol Wincenc, one of today's greatest flutists, accompanied by the brilliant, young pianist Bryan Wagorn. Wincenc and Wagorn will perform works by Copland, Mozart, Debussy, and Fauré. Hoff-Barthelson flute students, faculty and alumni will join the pair for the final number—a lively baroque concerto for five flutes that will showcase Hoff-Barthelson's musical community at its finest. The event will be held in the recital hall of the CV Rich Mansion, a gorgeous Italianate Villa and begins with an intimate pre-concert reception for ticket holders at the Sponsor and Benefactor levels. Funds raised ensure that Hoff-Barthelson can continue to provide the very best music education to our students and guarantee that our programs remain accessible through financial aid and outreach.
