The Pasadena Playhouse has announced that full casting is complete for the west coast premiere of the new musical TWIST - An American Musical by William F. Brown and Tina Tippit (book), Tena Clark (lyrics and music) and Gary Prim (music). Golden Globe and multi-Emmy Award-winner Debbie Allen directs a cast of 31 performers led by Tamyra Gray ('American Idol,' Rent and Bombay Dreams) and Cleavant Derricks (Tony Award-winner, Dreamgirls). The five-week limited engagement performs June 14 - July 17, 2011 with the official press opening on June 26, 2011 at The Pasadena Playhouse (39 S. El Molino Avenue).

In its eight year history, Caruso's famous open mike night at Birdland has seen a huge number of major stars drop in unannounced. Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of André Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that its production of WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, the new musical based on the film by Pedro Almodóvar with book by Jeffrey Lane, music and lyrics by David Yazbek and direction by Bartlett Sher, will end its run this Sunday, January 2 at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44 Street). The musical, which was originally scheduled to run through Sunday, January 23, will have played 30 previews and 69 performances.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Lincoln Center Theater's productions of WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN and A FREE MAN OF COLOR will not extend their limited engagement runs. WOMEN ON THE VERGE will close on January 23 as previously scheduled, and FREE MAN OF COLOR on January 9.

Previews, originally scheduled to begin on Saturday evening, October 2, will now begin on Tuesday evening, October 5 at 8pm at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44 Street).
