Drury Lane Theatre opens its 2016-2017 season with the World Premiere musical comedy Hazel, A Musical Maid in America, based on the character from the Saturday Evening Post cartoon by Ted Key and the 1960s TV comedy series starring Shirley Booth. Hazel features a book by Lissa Levin, music by Ron Abel, and lyrics by Chuck Steffan. This new musical is directed and choreographed by Tony nominee and Emmy Award winner Joshua Bergasse with musical direction by Roberta Duchak. EXPANDED VISIONS Opens 6/6 at Ware Center

Each year the Lancaster Summer Arts Festival hosts numerous events around the city. The 'Expanded Visions' photography exhibition has been in existence since the early 1980s and was originally called 'Silver Visions.' It was renamed 'Expanded Visions' in 2010 to acknowledge the emergence of digital photography. The exhibition, now in its third decade, will open at the Ware Center, 42 North Prince Street, Lancaster, PA, on Friday, June 6, from 6 to 8 PM. It continues through June 29, showing Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4 PM and during performances at the Ware Center. Admission is FREE and complimentary coffee is served June 6.

Nominations for the 2012 FREDDY© Awards were announced yesterday, May 10th, live on 69 WFMZ-TV during the Noon News broadcast. Leading the pack this year are Freedom High School with 17 nominations. Emmaus High School and Parkland High School both scooped 12 nominations. Notre Dame High School is close behind with 11 nominations.
