New York, NY – The Metropolitan Museum of Art presents 2015-2016 Quartet in Residence, theChiara String Quartet, in its second Met Museum Presents concert of the season on Friday,November 13, 2015 at 7pm in The Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium (1000 Fifth Ave). A concert of music made by and for old friends, the program, titled Piano Quintets with Simone Dinnerstein,features the New York premiere of Jefferson Friedman's new piano quintet The Heart Wakes Into for the Chiara and pianist Simone Dinnerstein, paired with Brahms' Piano Quintet in F minor. The Chiara Quartet's residency will continue on Friday, March 18, 2016 with Bartók and Frank and on May 6, 2016 with Death of the Maiden.

Chicago Opera Theater dives into the pool again for a remount of its highly successful production of Ricky Ian Gordon's Orpheus & Euridice in partnership with the Chicago Park District in collaboration with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events as part of the Classics in the Parks series. Following the sold-out run of four performances at the Eckhart Park Pool in the West Town neighborhood in early November, COT will bring three additional performances to Lincoln Square on December 19, 20, and 22 at the Welles Park Pool. These collaborations with Chicago cultural institutions draw audiences even further into the passionate world of COT and offer new insight and perspective on the artistry and vision of upcoming productions.

Internationally recognized for its adventurous opera and classical music programming, Spoleto Festival USA offers an eclectic program of music and opera for its 37th season. In addition to the American premiere of Matsukaze-the first of Japanese composer Toshio Hosokawa's operas to be produced in the United States-the program includes American premiere performances of P?teris Vasks' Credo and Pierre Boulez's arrangement of Ravel's Frontispice. Also to be performed are a double-bill of rarely performed Italian operas, Puccini's Le Villi and Giordano's Mese Mariano, and Verdi's Messa da Requiem conducted by Joseph Flummerfelt in his farewell appearance as Spoleto's Artistic Director for Choral Activities.

Volpe Director for Chamber Music, has announced the complete 2013 chamber music program for the Charleston, South Carolina based performing arts festival. The 33-concert Bank of America Chamber Music Series comprises 11 programs, each repeated three times throughout the Festival at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm daily. Highlights of the 2013 season include a world premiere by composer-in-residence Samuel Carl Adams and the Festival debuts of the Brentano String Quartet, young Russian pianist Pavel Kolesnikov, and percussionist Steven Schick. Returning to the series in 2013 are bassist Anthony Manzo, cellist Alisa Weilerstein, pianist Pedja Muzijevic, violinist Livia Sohn, flutist Tara Helen O'Connor, clarinetist Todd Palmer, oboist James Austin Smith, and the St. Lawrence String Quartet.

For the first time on the West Coast, audiences will have the opportunity to see Ainadamar fully staged in its acclaimed revised version. Long Beach Opera (LBO) presents Argentine composer Oswaldo Golijov and librettist David Henry Hwang's powerful Grammy Award-winning opera on May 20 and May 26, 2012 at the Terrace Theater in Long Beach, CA. Based on the life of famous writer Federico Garcia Lorca and his murder by Fascists during the Spanish Civil War, Ainadamar celebrates Lorca's fight for artistic, political and personal freedom.

The 2011 Spoleto Festival USA has announced the line-up for this year. The event will be held in Charlestown, South Caroline from May 27 through June 12. The Festival will include a total of 152 performances by artists from around the world.

Lea DeLaria hosted the evening with feature performances from Ricky Ian Gordon, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Marc Kudisch, Aaron Lazar, Erin Quill, Seth Rudetsky, John Tartaglia, Jeanine Tesori, and Tony Yazbeck, as well as Emily Albrink, Jeff Blumenkrantz, Attila Joey Csiki of Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, Constantine Germanacos, Joe Lodato, Matthew Morris, Todd Palmer, Kate Pazakis, Kathleen Tagg, and Nurit Tilles. Michael Rader directed the concert with stage management from David M. Beris.
